Quote Feature ... Icon Glitch

Recommended Posts

This is how the lampstand was made: It was hammered work of gold; from its stem to its blossoms, it was hammered work. The lampstand was made according to the vision that Jehovah had shown Moses. For the past several months I've had issues with the quote icon.  Whenever I hit the icon the quote box normally appears.  But when I attempt to longpress to "paste" inside the box -- words, scriptures, or paragraphs -- appear directly above and not within the box.

Subsequently, anything I type before I quote is "pushed aside" and the intended quote is automatically the first thing I see.  It's akin to reading a scripture before introducing it.

It seems to work for me....

Quote

Notice where it is "displaced" instead of in the quote box?

In major cities around the world, pedestrians have become accustomed to seeing mobile carts with Bible-based literature published by Jehovah’s Witnesses. More examples of using the quote feature using quotes from jw.org ...

One again...quoted paragraph from jw.org does not enter the box but becomes the "introduction".  Here is the link I quoted from.

Are you "clicking" INSIDE the quote box before trying to paste inside the box?

If you have not set the "focus" of the cursor inside the box it will paste wherever the cursors last position was.

Just "right clicking" or "long pressing" does not always change the cursor focus.

John beat me to it but as he said, the " will create a box and you need to ensure your cursor is inside the box before you paste.

Yes, the cursor is definitely INSIDE the quote box.

Specifically,  I'm able to "type" a quote in the box; butI cannot "paste" a quote...say if it's a looong paragraph from an external news source, then that's where it becomes problematic.  It wasn't always like this, so I'll just keep on trying.  Thanks.

I had a couple of problems this morning (not related to this question).  I finally got the solution to work on my Ipad and on my Android phone, but not on my Windows 10 PC.  So I gave in and cleared all of the caches and so on, and the Windows unit came up fine.

So. may try clearing the cache?
