SCARY AND TRUE

 You always see this in a movie, but experienced in real life is different. This morning just before 6 AM and it was pitch black outside and I was turning onto expressway and I was going the right way, but the taxi cab driver on the other side of the expressway was going the wrong way. I speed up my car a beeping my horn at him for three blocks. While this was going on, there was another car was on the opposite lane was going toward him, but he or she was on a different lane and thank God there was no collision.

 

 While I was approaching the 4th block, I almost hit the curb the lead to a turnoff to another street because my attention was on the Taxi driver. Yes, I had green lights all the way through. He slow down and I think his passenger window was partly opened and  I yelled at him: "You going the wrong way!" He kept driving the wrong way until he cut me off on the next corner by going through the red light.

 

 He went up the hill to the hotel and I followed him and parked behind him and approached to him and asked him the question: "Did you know you was going the wrong way?" He yelled back at me and said: Yes, I know and that is why I slow down!"

 

 I sad nothing no more and walked away. He had a passenger in his cab. And if he knew he was going the wrong way, then he need to stop and turn around quickly and he didn't do this. This was a scary situation and I lived to tell this. It could be a lot worse than what happened.

I had a few funny and scary stories. The weirdest one was when I was visiting my great-grandmother circa 18 years ago. I was watching a documentary tv show about the police. There were some AT cops entering a building. I decided to stop watching, switched off the TV and a minute later there was, rather far from gentle, knocking on the door - that was the AT police. They were breaking into the wrong door... It is like TV action shifting to reality. I almost felt like those cops were entering my door but the action was shown from another camera.

Almost 2 weeks ago I took my daughter to the airport. Coming home I turned off street was on behind a semi.

I passed him and then someone else passed him and got behind me.

The next intersection the light turned red - with plenty of time to slow down.

That truck went barreling thru the red light in the passing lane - doing 30 to 40 MPH.

Good thing the lane was empty and the airport shuttle coming from cross street was very slow about pulling out.

Otherwise there would have been fatalities - I may have been one of them.

 

A sister mentioned that similar happened to relatives in about same area on same road a few days earlier.

About a year ago I was coming home pulling my trailer when someone a couple chairs in front of me suddenly stopped for no apparent reason. I had to hit my brakes hard to keep from hitting the car in front of me.

 

They guy behind me came to a screeching stop almost into the back of my trailer. Next thing I knew - a pickup truck pulling another trailer came along side of me on the shoulder and came to a stop even with me. I looked over at him and he looked toward the guy who had stopped, looked at me and just shook his head. When I looked in my mirror I saw that the guy who was behind the guy who was behind me and he had almost hit the guy behind me ... the truck sitting next to me had been where that car now was. If he hadn't pulled onto the shoulder and slid to a stop next to me we would have had a multi-vehicle accident including our trailers.

 

The guy who had suddenly stopped made a weird turn into the driveway on the left side of the road that he had driven a little past - when he saw where he was supposed to turn he just stopped with no regard to the traffic behind him.

 

I let the guy next to me go first so he could get back onto the road.
