HELP! Company Party/End of Year Celebration Games

Recommended Posts

Aloha - I am in charge of planning my company's end of year celebration.  Before I took that responsibility over, they used to call it a Holiday Party or a Christmas party.  Not that it matters, but most of my co-workers are Mormons.  Our sister office on Oahu, because they have no JW's, actually calls their party a Christmas party.  This year, the party planner over there (who normally is very low-key when planning parties) got very festive and did three fun party games that involved Santa, snowmen, and candy canes...and everyone had a fabulous time.  Yee haw.  The boss over all Hawaii asked me if I had any party games planned for our party.  I'm like, "Uhhhhhhh...no, but I will."  He knows I am a JW and does not expect me to do any holiday games, but I am super slammed at work right now and am seeking your help.  Does anyone have any fun party games I could use for my party.  I don't mind investing up to $100 in company funds for supplies to that end.  Thanks in advance!!!  Mia

Snowmen and sleigh rides are not specific to Christmas despite their being used as Christmas decorations.  Winter Wonderland and Jingle Bells are 2 songs that do not mention Christmas.

Ice skating is not Christmas.

Since you are in Hawaii are you limited to ice and snow themes when you don't experience ice and snow this time of year?

My wife's work has a summer picnic with games and prizes.  They play giant Jenga.

How long is the party? Can people play cards?  Or are these games supposed to be quick and involve prizes?

Look up wedding shower, bridal shower, or baby shower games and see what you can find. A lot of those are guessing games, word search, matching, etc... You can easily replace the themes with winter or year end themes

What has your company experienced this past year? Some games could include that as a theme. Project names, client names, etc. I don't know what your company does

Thanks for this....!  No, no snow in Hawaii right now - 82 degrees!  HAHA  For our summer party we did those huge hamster balls and played soccer.  LOL  So much fun!!

The party is a few hours - social hour then dinner then door prize drawings.  I like your game ideas in terms of searching for other themes and customizing.

We are the nations #4 largest construction company.  We build big things.  🙂  We just finished a 42 story skyscraper in Honolulu, maybe I will do something related to that.

Thanks again for the inspiration.  I am gonna do a couple more google searches.

So I did a few fun games.  The day of the party the big boss sent out an email regarding the now mandatory use of gloves on the jobsite.  So on one of the games everyon had to wear full PPE, including gloves!  The first game we did during cocktail hour is I had stacks of our safety books and a prize was given to the person who built the highest tower.  That was fun.

After dinner we did another game where I had six cones with cash taped to the top of them. I purchased three rings - two toilet flanges and a yard sprinkler thingy - everyone got to throw the three rings and if you got your ring on a cone, then you got to keep the cash.  I did a variety of one's, five's and twenties.  It took forever to get someone to land a ring on a cone.  In the end we stopped  with the PPE, except with the gloves, and kept moving the cones closer and closer to the rings.  I was like, "I'm TRYING to give away money here!"  It was a riot!!

Here are two pics from the party.  Thanks again for the inspiration!!
