We hired the author of 'Black Hawk Down' and an illustrator from 'Archer' to adapt the Mueller report so you'll actually read it.

But not reading it makes sense. As a narrative, the document is a disaster. And at 448 pages, it's too long to grind through. For long stretches, it reads less like a story and more like a terms-of-service agreement. The instinct to click "next" is strong.

And yet, buried within the Mueller report, there is a narrative that reads in parts like a thriller, like a comedy, like a tragedy — and, most important — like an indictment.

Mueller 1 Resized

Very good read especially for those with short attention span. Can't wait for the tomes that will be coming out in the near future. The whole works. Will probably run into volumes. About a president and his enablers.

EXPERTS SAY NEGATIVE SELF-TALK OFTEN BEGINS AN ENDLESS CYCLE OF NEGATIVITY.

Words matter, whether they're said out loud or thought to ourselves in our head. Unfortunately, many people aren't necessarily kind to themselves with the words they choose, and that can play a large role in a person's self-esteem and prospects later in life. To avoid this, experts say this is the one word you should never say to yourself: can't.

For instance, if someone often told you that you "can't" or "couldn't" do something, it's likely to create an emotional impact so strong that it stays with you throughout your life. And "it only gets stronger as you reinforce it through proof-seeking and searching-out experiences that validate your belief," Sadie says. So instead of having healthy, optimistic responses to negative experiences, you're stuck telling yourself it happened because you "can't" do something.

"You can change your negative self-talk at any time if you recognize that it's harmful and make the conscious effort to re-direct it … Over time, your perception will begin to shift," she says. "In return, you'll open up doors to your true potential that you may not have realized was there."

Using These Words Instantly Makes You Sound Less Intelligent, Study Shows

AS IT TURNS OUT, USING BIG WORDS TO SOUND SMARTER HAS THE OPPOSITE EFFECT.

Your vocabulary tells people a lot about you—but it might not be saying what you think. You'd probably assume that the larger your vocabulary is, the smarter you come off. But research shows that when this theory is put to the test in real life, many people have a negative reaction to unnecessarily complex language. Not only are they put off by it, they're often left with the impression that you're actually less intelligent.

....So remember: the main goal of speaking and writing is clear communication—not impressing other people. And if you are looking to make an impression, science shows that simple language is best. This way, people will understand those brilliant ideas of yours instead of allowing your prodigiously erudite vernacular to get in the way

The Notes of a Commanding Officer on Site: A Complete 15-Day Record of the Wuhan “Evacuation of Japanese Citizens”: Operating Throughout the Nights, No Time to Be Afraid

January 23 2020

It was on the morning of January 23 when I checked the news site Toutiao on my phone that I first heard about the Wuhan lockdown. After going to work, I was alarmed to find out that all transportation in and out of Wuhan had been suspended and that the roads were blocked as of 10 a.m.

Reads like a suspenseful spy thriller.

DUBLIN — Laurita Blewitt knows how deep Joe Biden’s Irish roots run. When the White House contacted her to help put together a family lunch ahead of the then-vice president’s 2016 visit to Ireland, she struggled to limit the crowd.

“I know politicians in Ireland who I’ve met a hundred times and they wouldn’t remember my name. Joe is different. He’s talking to so many people every day. But he still remembers you and takes the time to connect,” said Laurita Blewitt

My memory has seriously declined these couple of years. I should make extra effort to remember the names of brothers and sisters around the country. It is deeply embarrassing to struggle when trying to recall people's name. I think I should try mnemonics.
