Where does Amazon, and I’m sure others, get the idea that it’s okay to sell our books?

These are more often than not marketplace sellers, ie. private individuals who have nothing to do with us. In some cases they could be former Witnesses, in others people don't know or don't care. Hence our newer publications mention in the beginning that this publications is not for sale.

Like you said they don’t care. Does our legal dept. ever get involved?

I don't think it's worth pursuing it. They are second hand books. Someone buys a whole library and sells all the books. That may include a book or two of ours. Not a big business, I guess. If people don't want them when we give them for free, I doubt they will pay for them.
