What's with all the added ingredients in US foods?

It does not matter. It is killing people by clogging their hearts. The only they care about is your money.

Of course, it just seems... ludicrous to add all these addtional chemicals, seemingly for no reason when there is no need. That's what I'm curious about.

There are two possible explanations:

  1. These ingredients are "normal" (like dough conditioner) and have been used for many years but the UK decided to "restrict" them so they had to be removed from the product sold in the UK
  2. Some of these ARE in the UK product but are part of another ingredient (like the flour) and the UK may not require the "ingredients list" to be as specific and detailed as the US

Then again - it could just be that Brits prefer more bland food than those in the US :lol1:

I didn't think it was possible to make a blander hamburger than an American Big Mac.

Well, if you compare people eating both products, in videos people have actually commented that the UK fast foods tasted more "normal" in comparison, as if they didn't have lots of rubbish in it like the US varients.

Matt,

The question is, have YOU eaten both products so you can decide for yourself? I have never been out of the US so I cannot give a personal answer as to any difference in the taste. I will accept there may be a difference - as to which tastes better, well, like beauty, it is very subjective ...
