Display video while making a presentation

Recommended Posts

I have heard of software that allows the user to display a video in the background without having to share the screen or navigating away from the speaker. Is anyone using this? Logitech supposedly came out with this feature but I do not use a separate camera outside of the integrated one so I cannot use that software. Thanks.

I saw a brother do that recently. He was giving a safety talk at a maintenance meeting and during his presentation his image was reduced to the lower corner of the screen, so we could still see him talking but his background changed to a PowerPoint presentation. He was able to move the PowerPoint presentation and keep his image in the lower corner of the screen.

Edit: he just told me that he used OBS for PowerPoint.

Just a general comment on this subject, - perhaps not applicable directly to the  question asked, but just to point out that the direction for meeting parts is that we don't use video clips in meeting parts unless we are directed to do so.

Still images are fine.

Sfl 20:20.

But there are exceptions like sign language congregations.

Also, as an aside, it might be good to remember that per branch direction public speakers "should not project any moving video footage on screens or monitors unless directed to do so by the organization", with the exception of sign-language meetings.  (This is in the direction provided to elders regarding visual aids in meetings.)

Some newer public talk outlines provide an accompanying video clip or two.  But we otherwise shouldn't be using videos in our talks.

Edit: Whoops, didn't see the above comment for some reason.  Must be going blind!

Apologies.

I appreciate the direction, and will not include video without explicit instruction from the branch.
