Has anyone tried this with their cell phone?

We are on Sprint and want to go no-contract but use our old phones that we use now. I saw on line a person said they bought a cheap no contract phone, activated it, then put the sim chip in the phone he wanted to use. Kind of when we switched phones on our 4 lines, and activated them then switched the phone to the number we wanted it on (well the Sprint guy did it for us lol). If this can work, it would be a good option since Leon only wants talk and text and I'm the one with the smart phone and needs data. We will have to decide whether to keep the other two lines till they run out in a year OR drop them and have Leons and my phone attached to the numbers and use them that way until the contract is over. Or drop them and pay the early disconnect fee. Techhie people, what is your opinion?

I am not that advanced yet. Christina Have you found out how much it is to end your contract? Some friends of mine go for a prepaid option, were you buy just the amount you want to spend, Then when it runs out go and get another prepaid card. You can use that for talk and text. I have been caught out before with prorater fees. I was not aware of them Until many years back my phone company sent me out this bill for $1200. I questioned why. It was because, At the time i had been dealing with a lot of stress, my grandfather and grandmother where both ill in and out of hospital. I just had a baby. I was wanting to reduce the my phone plans & each time I had done it they would charge a fee for the middle of the month cycle on the phone bill. I wasn't aware of these charges, I also on top of that. I broke my phone, Was in Sydney travelling with 2 babies and I needed another phone, So I thought I was getting just the phone, for $10. extra on my bill. It took a while to sort the whole mess out. But It was sorted and waivered the bill. So now I double, triple check before I do anything.

So find out if you can afford to terminate early. Does your phone service provide top service? I have been searching to end my mobile contract, The company I recently switched over to have merged with another company, The I have tried for 3months with them, the service is not good. We have our own business and need to be reliable. but The reception drops out. So I recently found out that if you are not happy with the service they will let you go for free..
