The Waiting Curve — a Glimpse of Wonder entry™ — The Waiting Curve - Series 7 of 12
In the quiet, a curve begins. The light falls so that part of the eggshell shines while the rest disappears into shadow — smooth, unbroken, but hidden from view. You know the rest of it is there, even though you can’t see it yet. Life works like that.
Chick development follows its own curve — what biologists call an S-curve. It starts slow, almost nothing to notice at first. Then, in the middle, there’s a sudden surge of change — feathers forming, organs finishing, movements beginning. And then, as the curve flattens again, the chick readies for hatching.
Faith can feel the same. In those early days of prayer and obedience, not much seems to move. Then Jehovah brings a season of growth so swift you can barely keep up. And just as quickly, you might find yourself back in a plateau, holding steady while He finishes what He started.
What do you do in that waiting? The chick does not peck early. It does not run ahead. It rests, developing in the safety of the shell, trusting the unseen plan. Could your faith do the same — patient in the slow curve, ready for the sudden climb?
