  1. I think I could write a book on "Things I wish I had not said".
  2. AI is not the only danger as we use technology more and more, especially as of late in the Congregation. Everything has an app or program we can use. I have pulled back from using technology, first in the way I study my Watchtower. I no longer use a table to study. I use a printed copy where I write notes by hand, not a keyboard. For me, I feel I am improving in my study habits. Our MWM is only availabe if you have the New World App-we don't. Need to turn your field service in? Use the New World App. Group texts are sent out instead of personal communication. I don't use WhatsApp, so I get a text message that is just copied from the What'sApp. My wife just got a box of memories from her mom. It had photos, letters, cards and notes. All of which most no longer keep unless digital. It has taken her days to go over the information. I really enjoyed the TED talk by Ashley Davis entitled " The Power of Written Communication in a Technological Age". As I grow older I am struggling with memory. I am more inclined to write my thoughts out, study from a book or magazine, read a printed copy of the Bible over digital. I have daily journals I write in. Yes, more than one. I have a daily scripture that I write out by hand. I have a poem book based on that scripture that I write out. I look up positive quotes and write them out by hand. I am starting a new project based on the Draw Close to Jehovah Book. I have to get a printed copy first. I value technology. I value AI. Thank you for sharing my thoughts on this forum. They are not me telling you how to study or in what format you study. There just some things that work well for me. As @dljbsp (David) it's about using the tool wisely.
  3. They recently updated this program. Here is an excellent video that not only explains the updates but basic operation of the program. I still like using Luminar the best.
  4. From the 1978 album Double Vision, Mick Jones sings lead, not Lou Gramm sings "I have waited so long". Nicely arranged and performed song. The group that tours currently under the "Foreigner" name has no original members. I saw them on their first tour when they opened up for Heart in 1977.
  5. What was interesting, too is that King Josiah was the last king mentioned who wrote his own personal copy of the Law. I thought of what a good reader Shaphan must have been. What was being read moved the King. But sadly, as David @dljbsp stated he did not continue to read, listen or follow the Law as Jehovah had instructed. Some in the congregation are disappointed when they are assigned "Just a Bible reading". This would be a great scripture to show them the value of reading God's Word before others, as it has power! I wonder what those who are assigned to read the Bible reading were also required to write it out first!
  6. The quality has gone up since I posted this thread. I did one on the day text for today based on 1 Peter 4:8, with the help of ChatGPT. Here are the lyrics and then two versions of the song. The name of the song is "Above All, Love" "Above all things, let love remain, A healing balm through loss and pain. It shields the heart from sin’s deep scar, Forgiving freely, near and far. When love abounds, grace lights the way— And covers faults of yesterday. Love bears the weight that pride would shun, It seeks the good in everyone. It whispers peace where anger grows, And softens hearts that pain once froze. No harsh demand, no boastful call— True love seeks mercy over all. It binds the broken, mends the soul, Restores the parts that hate made cold. Through patient hands and gentle tone, Love makes a stranger feel at home. Its fire refines, yet does not burn, For every wound, it will return. When tempers flare and tongues divide, Love teaches hearts to turn aside. It listens more, and speaks with care, Reminding us God’s love is there. Though wrongs are many, love is strong, It turns the bitter into song. Love keeps no record, holds no score, It gives, then gives a little more. It does not fade when trials rise, But lifts its gaze toward brighter skies. For in its warmth, the soul can see, A glimpse of God’s eternity. So let us love with hearts made new, In all we say, in all we do. For love endures when all else dies, It mirrors heaven in mortal eyes. And through its grace, we come to find— The heart of God in all mankind." Above all things, let love remain, (1).mp3 Above all things, let love remain,.mp3
  7. I just want to be loyal. Whether that means I enter alive or if I don't see the end. So to answer your question, yes. I just want to be loyal and that's my focus
  8. Knowing me, I probably already shared this video. I absolutely love the intro as the performer lets her band shine before taking the stage. Sorry she has so many health issues. Singer Katie Melua sings I put a spell on you.
  9. I am trying to discontinue the use of the term "worldly people or events" with non-Witness. That being said, I have found as I have gotten older and the atmosphere of such events has changed. I was watching on YouTube some videos by A&E showing how security works at NFL games. How there are cameras everywhere watching the fans. I did not want to post here as most of the more profane language has been censored. Some of the more colorful profanities are not censored. I have not been to a big sporting event or concert in years other than a JW Convention. I have found it getting more and more to be a challenge to go and not be affected by the crowd around you. Plus the cost has just gotten out of control! My first concert in 1977 was $8 for a major band and 4 other bands. I took my dad and I to a Seattle Seahawk game, level 1 40 yard line seats $8. And parking was pretty cheap. And the ticket fee was 50 cents for each ticket! I watch the crowds at these events and glad not to be a part of them! I no longer have a love of sports. I like to watch a game now and then. Same with concerts. Now that so many can be seen on YouTube I get to see some of the artists I like. For those of you that enjoy going to the games or concerts, what precautions do you take when surrounded my so many non-JW? It can be a challenge for sure!
  10. I try to have an eclectic variety of music. Today it's country music. Not the current country but old country. For me that would be the 60's to late 70's with a dose of 80's. Here are three choices: First a cover by Reba McEntire & Kenny Chesney "I was Country, when Country wasn't Cool"- One of my mom's favorite David Houston "Where Love Used To Live"- Sometimes you need a little soul with your country music. Ray Charles from 1972! "Take me home, country roads"-
  11. Singer/songwriter Bruce Robison singing "Angry All the Time". I will also the Tim McGraw version. I like the Bruce Robison version because he sings a more depressing version of a sad song!
  12. One of my favorite songs from the group Humble Pie, which Peter Frampton was a member of. "I don't need no Doctor". The gentleman singing with Peter is Bob Mayo. Yes, the Bob Mayo you hear him say on his 1976 Frampton Comes Alive. Mayo would die in 2004 at age 56. This is from Frampton Live in Detroit 1999. I want to also share Steve Marriott who was the lead vocalist and guitar player for Humble Pie. This is from 1985. He was so talented but let alcohol ruin his life, when he died in his sleep after a heavy night of drinking. Some of the most talented people are also the most messed up. He was only 44. Love the bib overalls!
  13. Peter Frampton's incredible cover of the Lenny Kravitz song "Are You Gonna Go My Way". No singing just Frampton's skill with a guitar! From his album Frampton Forgets The Words released in 2021. Peter Frampton, the renowned musician, suffers from a rare muscle disease known as inclusion body myositis in 2015. Here's Frampton from the same album cover the Stevie Wonder song "I don't Know why". Just incredible guitar playing. Especially considering his health!
  14. I just watched a TED talk ( TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design) about an AI Chatbot for mental health concerns. I found the information interesting in the fact that when a person is having a crisis they could "talk" about it. I can see the practical side of it. It's just in the beginning stages but could be a valuable tool for many. We live in interesting times.
  15. From 1975 the group The Crusaders released "Chain Reaction". What a great album. The Crusaders: Wayne Henderson - trombone Wilton Felder - saxophones, bass Larry Carlton - guitar Joe Sample - Fender Rhodes electric piano, clavinet, synthesizer Stix Hooper - drums, percussion Only Larry Carlton (played on many Steely Dan songs) and Stix Hooper are still alive. That was the year I really started to like jazz and jazz influenced music. This is a song called "Creole" off of that record. And "Mellow Out"
  16. What a talent, Linda Ronstadt singing 'Long, Long Time" from 1970.
  17. John Fogerty "Bad, Bad Boy" from Blue Moon Swamp released in 1997.
  18. From 1999 in one of Paul Young's last performances as he would die in 2000 from a sudden heart attack. Mike and the Mechanics performan All I need is a Miracle. From that same group we also have a heartache of a song, sung by Paul Carrack when he was with Mike and the Mechanics "The Living Years"
  19. Well at least I found it. There is so much great music and we just need to find it. I have loved listening to the jazz station when I volunteer! I am sure I will continue to find gems that I have never heard before.
  20. How did I miss this gem of a song, written by Sting performed by Gregory Porter? Gregory Porter performs "It's Probably Me"
  21. I like listening to jazz when I volunteer locally for the Food Bank in our town. I head this great organ instrumental by Reuben Wilson called Honey Dripper.
