Trust in The God of All Comfort.

Recommended Posts

This experience, I want to share with my brothers and sisters:  This afternoon we had a brother who gave this talk titled: Trust In The God of All Comfort.  Well in his experiences mention in the talk today, he told us about Br. Morris of the Governing Body, approaching him along with the small group that was assigned to clean in the stadium platform part below Fed-X field.   Br. Morris asked them what they thought of the New Revised Bible.  Well of course many of the friends said they LOVED IT.  Br. Morris went on to tell the speaker, along with several others, that the words had to be changed in a lot of he scriptures.  For instance he told the friends, take the scripture on Satan TRANSFORMING himself. In 2 Cor. 11:14 in the old version of the Bible it says that "For no wonder, for Satan keeps TRANSFORMING himself as if an angel of light."  He asked the friends, could Satan transform himself into anything beautiful?    But he can disguise himself!  Then he told the group that was a better word to describe how Satan could disguise himself, but not transform himself.   Only humans can "transformed" themselves, like a caterpillar which eventually transform's itself into a beautiful butterfly, only when they apply the word of God to themselves and make changes. (Ro. 12:2)   But the devil can't transform himself into anything so they replaced the word in 2 Cor. 11:14, as disguised himself. This he can do, disguise himself into whatever he wants to become.    Anyway, I just thought this experience brought out by the speaker today really made sense.   I love this new Bible, the F&D S, along with thousands around he world really worked hard on it.  Later in his talk,he mentioned on how he tried to reason with some pastor he met in the door to door work.  It was to no avail!  No matter how much the brother tried to reason with him, the pastor retorted and said: "all of it is in heaven, and again, its  in heaven.  So the brother asked the pastor, where does it say in the Bible that in heaven there is death?  Again the pastor said, this scripture is about Heaven.  At this point in the experience, he advised us that some out there are truly blind and they refuse to see the truth.  Then he made one good point that I really liked.  He said these people when you try to reason with them have no Holy Spirit.  Without Holy Spirit, they will never be able to understand God's word.    His experience may seem that they don't touch the talk title, but they really did.    Some how he swung this back to the title of the talk.  He did a good job!   Really touched all our hearts too.   So sorry this is long, but I just want to share.  Am a rambling stone....that can't shut up!

I don't remember why I read this scripture today, but your post reminded me of it...  Isaiah 44:18 says:  "They know nothing, they understand nothing, Because their eyes are sealed shut and they cannot see, And their heart has no insight."   Some people WILL NOT see. They WILL NOT understand. I have a hard time understanding HOW some people cannot see. But Jehovah knows hearts and I just have to rely on that. I loved hearing Bro. Morris talks at our International Convention in Detroit. So faith strengthening. I also really enjoyed Bro. Shaeffer's talks.

Peace...... Love...... &....... Paradise......
