Fitbit Surge

Recommended Posts

Does anyone here have a Fitbit or know anyone who does?  I just got mine and already love it!  If anyone wants to join me I made a private group called "A People for his Name" for Jehovah's Witnesses or ones favorable to Jehovah's rule.  If anyone could go to the official Fitbit.com page and see if you can join the group I would appreciate it.  I set it up as a Private group which should not show to the public but now since I set it up I can not see the page the same.  So I don't know if that means you have to know the title of the group or if I have to send an email/invitation.  Maybe the mods could help me out with that question.  Anyway, check out my post under the lowcarb topic the food area on this forum and you can see how amazing the fitbit page is.  I am thinking you do not even have to have a fitbit to join but I am not positive.  Hope you'll be seeing "less" of me soon!

There are several different models of Fitbit but basically they are tracing/monitoring devices or watches that you wear to keep track of your activity.  They are like a hybrid device that are similar to a pedometer--that is the best way I can describe it with my limited tech knowledge.  You can purchase them on line but I got mine at WalMart.  Sports stores and Sam's Club carry them too.

If you want to know more look at the Fitbit.com page.  If you have ever watched The Biggest Loser it is my understanding that the device is used with there contestants.  Joel McHale (Talk Soup/The Community) is a spokesperson for the product.  I just saw that the prices start at 59.00 for different models.  I got the scale that goes with it.  It is a wifi scale and when you weigh it automatically downloads your stats into the page of your fitbit account.  AWESOME!!!!

I have been able to track my weight, calories in and burned, food intake, water intake, steps, flights climbed, distance, exercise and sleep patterns to help me understand and stay on track with a lifestyle change in food and exercise.  Just being aware of how much you walk or how little you move a day is a real eye opener!  It even has a GPS on the watch!  I guess if I ever get kidnapped the police will know where I am.

I use the Fitbit flex. Costco has then on sale. I like how you can keep track of everything including sleep. It's motivating for me
