Duggar Family Fallout

I have never watched the TLC's "19 Kids and Counting" "reality" based tv show.  But you can not escape the sensationalism that all the interviews have added to this family's situation.  I still am not clear on the "facts".

 

What I can't warp my head around is the accused families members saying that he had a "curiosity" about girls.  Don't all kids have a curiosity about the opposite sex?  At what age does it turn from normal curiosity, or is it "normal" to be curiosis, to something unspeakable?  Is it the difference in the ages that takes it from curious to perversion? 

 

I just feel sorry for the girls to have to go through all of this again.  What an embarrassment.  They obviously love their brother. Did it continue for years or did the parents take the correct steps.  If they did, why did they go the the police?  How did the story get leaked?

Leslie, my Mom and I watched the show on and off for awhile. As far as I can tell by what the parents have said, this is not something that went on for years.  When the father found out what had happened, he took his son down to the police station. Also, as he was a juvenile, the records should have been sealed.  No one seems interested in how the information was leaked.

Wow.  I have never heard of a parent taking their own child to the police station when they were found out/confessed/or were caught.  I was just wondering what the right thing to do would be.  Especially in view of their ages, siblings, and repeat behavior.  Such a difficult situation.
