The Great Misconception

Recommended Posts

To give one’s life for another, there is no greater feat,

of sometimes through presenting oneself to danger,

while others give of themselves throughout their life, complete.

Freedom is not free, or so says they.

In war though it is not our only way –

for freedom we pay.

Of course, quite usually --

the costs are sometimes through sighing – crying – and dying.

On the other hand, freedoms are also won through presentation,

appeal, publication and legalization,

which come through warring in the courts,

informing the masses, and scoring political points.

To impose onto someone, personal ideals, how one feels, the wrath of nationalism,

would be to take their freedoms away, on some given day.

For the acts that come out of improper understanding,

blind patriotism and nationalism, make null and void the efforts of war.

Belief in theocracy (GOD RULE), this too is an outstanding cause!

For binding up the wounds, healing the sick, raising dead ones of the earth up,

those who throughout eternity are waiting in their tombs for their commanding call.

The great misconception then is this --

if one refuses to volunteer for battle,

killing someone in war, another’s kingdom to unravel,

they then are deemed as not worthy -- as if under the gavel,

A citizen with no rights or privileges within the nation,

regardless of their patience,

in spite of reasons for freedom proven under war;

what they were fighting for.

For goodness sakes, be gracious!

What takes more courage --

joining the corps for outright war,

or standing in the face of humiliation, ostracism, or rejection –

for one’s moral beliefs, always being shown the door?

How much courage does it take to insist on a righteous lifestyle?

Placing every need, every threat, every injury that was,

sickness and daily supplies too, into the hand of the living god?

Tell me if you can --

who has the courage, convictions and fortitude,

in all things to let god be found true?

Having guidance, encouragement, and total belief,

they become so convinced and rely on their faith,

while not giving in to what god his self condemns?
