Words, words and more words,

What do they all mean?

Words may illicit emotion

Like some kind of potion.

Words tell tales,

Words draw pictures,

Without words, communications fail,

And can cause things to become much bitter.

Words clarify other words,

Yet sometimes in themselves are not very clear.

Can move someone to love

And someone to fear.

With words we sing songs,

Some others we pray,

Some words make us sad,

While others can cause us to play.

Some words build up,

Some words tear down,

Some can make us feel so-o-o good,

But others can really make us frown.

The holy scriptures say that the tongue is a fire,

Because of the words it spouts.

When it unfurls,

Can cause a loss of faith or other doubts.

But of kind words,

That are well thought out,

May enlighten someone else’s world,

Without a doubt.
