Will It Really Happen Dad

The following are lyrics to a song I wrote.  I hope you get something from it.  Jehovah inspires us in so many ways and what a blessing that is.

WILL IT REALLY HAPPEN DAD?

 

You could see the image puzzled him and this lad’s mind for now

wondered why the  man was hammering a sword into a plough.

Below the statue were the words, yes biblical in kind

… We shall beat our sword to ploughshares … and they stuck out in his mind.

 

Could the Nations of the world he knew somehow fulfil this role

as the suffering the news relayed tormented this boy’s soul.

Would the Nations ever heed it and could peace on earth be had.

Then he turned to ask his father, “Will it really happen Dad?”

Well according to God’s word my son he promises they will

and he told Isaiah “Write it down.”  These words I will fulfil.

So my word that goes out of my mouth will not return to me

but will certainly accomplish what I deem that it should be.

 

His mind pictured no more suffering and sensed the sheer delight

of how peace would permeate the world, yes, morning, noon and night.

Man would then pursue the will of God and that sure would be nice

and united with God’s spirit to restore a paradise.

 

No more refugees to flood the World, no sorrow anymore

but a brotherhood of all mankind discarding thoughts of war.

Surely all of us would like to see the good replace the bad.

Then he turned to ask his father, “Will it really happen Dad?”
