I've always wanted to write a song based on 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

LOVE NEVER FAILS - THAT IS TRUE

 

There’s a word that mankind uses

so freely at times and appear

to dull its true meaning and value:

their actions reveal that I fear.

 

Now I say that because I have seen

the way it’s used loosely in life,

hence they miss the mark that’s intended

and reap so much hurt from their strife.

 

 

CHORUS

 

 Love is patient and kind and not jealous,

doesn’t brag, behaves decently too.

It bears and believes, it hopes and endures,

yes, love never fails; that is true.

 

So I guess more thought is required

when we bounce that small word around.

Make sure we attach all its values,

then God’s fruitage will surely abound.

 

It’s the essence of all ten commandments.

Jesus shared that kind thought with us all

and thank you dear Paul for those verses,

those reminders we need to recall.
