A Well Full of Qualities

A WELL FULL OF QUALITIES

 

With decisions to make every day of our lives

that will impact on how each will fare.

Not only on us but with others as well

it’s a challenge requiring some care.

 

Do we lean on our own understanding at times

and rely on our heart as a guide

In the past I’ve done that and sadly it’s true

what got in the way was my pride.

But I’m happy I’ve found a source to draw on

when making such choices in life

A well full of qualities with which to work

and the hope one can keep free of strife 

 

There’s love and there’s justice, wisdom and power,

the main attributes to apply.

Goodness and faith, self-control, peace and joy

an endless source of supply

 

There’s gentleness, kindness to add to the list

compassion, long suff’ring pray tell.

So give it some thought when you have to choose

there’s so many, a bottomless well.

But sometimes it’s not just the one that you need

but a little of each shows your wise

And when you bear fruitage in way of reply

it should never arrive by surprise.

 

It’s a God given gift for taking the time

and choosing the right properties.

So now I’m content to draw from that well,

that well full of God’s qualities.
