World's tallest man reaches his peak as scientists discover way to stop 8ft 3in giant from growing

Turkish farm labourer Sultan Kosen suffers from the rare disorder acromegaly which causes his body to continually produce the growth hormone. Mr Kosen's condition was thought to have been caused by a tumor in the pituitary gland which is located in bottom of the hypothalamus at the base of the brain.

Just think, Goliath was 15 inches TALLER!!! And he didn't have crutches. He was able to fight, battle. Just seeing this has a better perspective of how far from perfection we are compared to Goliath's time.

Yes totally. Just thinking they ould be that tall and twice as wide as him I expect and th enephalim would be so angry and dominering all the time. Must have been so scary, Noah and his family must have had divine protcection, or else they could easily have destroyed them and the ark.

My son is 6' 5" and has trouble finding clothes and shoes (to fit his size 16 foot). The clothes are never cheap and he must buy rather expensive ones anyway so they will last. I am glad he quit growing though! How awful to not have a bed that fits your body. Imagine sleeping on a love-seat all your life? Ouch!
