Assembly of new Kingdom Hall in “quick build” mode

On a gray, windy Saturday this past weekend, nearly 340 people turned out to help build a new Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses at 3200 S. Jamaica Blvd.

It’s volunteer labor from that day and several other weekend days that should allow the church to open a new building to its congregation by late April or early May, said Marvin Huenink, an elder at the church.

That would be a little more than two months after the building was demolished.

The church deems it a “quick build” and it’s a common practice that the Jehovah’s Witness Regional Building Committees help make a reality, said Huenink.
