Lately, we have been getting several videos and news reports of the persecution our brothers and sisters have been going through in Russia in grim detail. This video is no exception. I feel like Jehovah is really preparing us for the persecution to come.

The videos have shown that the authorities have shown no consideration to even female or elderly Witnesses. It helps us to put ourselves in their shoes and see that the same can happen to us during the fast approaching great tribulation. Will we use the time we have left to do our utmost to strengthen our relationship with Jehovah, grow in faith, trust and courage? Will we increase or continue our deeds of godly devotion and righteousness? Will we continue our study of the Bible or start if we aren’t currently doing so? Will we use this time to memorize scriptures and songs that will help us during times of persecution? Will we read the weekly articles detailing what the friends in Russia are going through and benefit from how they said they’ve remained faithful? Will we use this time to forgive our brothers and sisters for any hurt they may have caused us and use the little time remaining to draw closer to them, since we’ll need to be a close knit united family when the great tribulation begins?

This video reminds me what the January 2022 Watchtower said in study article 1. It states “During the great tribulation, Gog of Magog’s forces may try to assault us in our homes.” Yes, this very thing may happen to us in the future. Right now is the time to strengthen ourselves spiritually because the great tribulation is near.

The Hebrew word cushi or kushi is an affectionate term generally used in the Bible to refer to a dark-skinned person of African descent.
