Me and my wife were discussing the 2 Sauls.  King Saul and Paul/Saul.  We were jokingly coming up with ways to describe their consciences.  We came up with King Saul's conscience was like a perfectly running engine, but he didn't do maintenance on it and ended up blowing the thing, leading him to disaster.  Paul/Saul's conscience had a factory defect given to him by his environment, so Jesus recalled him, and fixed it, leading to his salvation.
