Here destined past wood and rock

This bony island beaches breath,

That happened from the loch

Where ospreys wake and greet

The final passing of the boats

Chill laughter in their throats

Calling time on man

usher forth His final plan

 

Come now girl and walk with me

In the wild and open air

hand in hand as God intends

For this world's decaying to its mortal ends

 

Here in valleys moonlight crashes

Upon improbable hills

Cattle stand, black white splashes

We navigate the still

Watching as we weave

places named with forgotten purpose

Livestock does not grieve

they realise our surplus

abattoirs await, they speculate 

To compensate, the profligate

Come now girl and walk with me

In the wild and open air

For this world's decaying to its mortal ends

 

Here by path through Eden’s park

Wild ponies mute and dumb

Observe our crawl towards the ark 

berthright uncertain, judgement to come

Our crippled minds, raised on despair

beg that truth and hope now pair

And deliver us from life Or death

A final reprieving from regret

Come now girl and walk with me

In the wild and open air

hand in hand as God intends

For this world's decaying to its mortal ends

 

And Adam’s charges watch and see

Our remnant cling humility

And where the proud once stood and mocked

Stands nothing save the after-shocked

The filth and horror that we wrought

Now is the duty of the bought

They’ll strive to earn their hard-worked slice

But do any warrant paradise

Go now girl, we stand alone

On this devastated soil

Head in hands, we stand dejected 

our hearts bear witness to our deeds reflected.

 

But girl though we are lacking clearly 

He’s bought us with a price paid dearly

Grace and Kindness wait for all

Willing but to heed His call

The shepherd knows his wait is short

To pick and choose, a final sort

He’s washed us in his blood with love

And pleads our case with God above

Hope now girl, Mercy is given

And sin from within our hearts is driven

Whatever happens rejoice and praise

Our God is in his rightful place.
