My fourth child, a son, Joshua Alasdair, was born at 16:51 this afternoon (Brisbane, Australia) weighing 3,800 grams (8.47 lbs) and 52cm long.

Mother and baby are doing well.

Thanks everyone, Mel is home with Joshua and settling in. Naturally it is hard work but we are getting there. Poor little tyke has his heel prick test today which will be hard on him and very painful, but it only happens once fortunately...

... until his first needles. *ouch*

I used to work in a Family Medicine practice and had to stick those babies. I HATED it!!! It's not like it was when I was a baby. We got ONE shot and then followed it up with a lump of sugar for Polio. I had to give those babies FOUR intramuscular injections!!!! They hurt.....AND they don't even get the sugar cube... Poor babies.....but then, they grow up hating the nurses and loving the doctors....and the Doctor is the one ordering the shots! NOT FAIR!!!!
