FDA approves new COVID booster amid rising cases

I just read the FDA in the United States has approved the booster for Covid-19. We recently got our annual flu shots and will be getting the booster when it is available here. Next, an independent advisory panel from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will meet on Sept. 12 to provide recommendations on who should be eligible for the new booster. The final step will be sign-off from the CDC director. Probably by the end of the month is when I imagine the public, mainly elderly and at risk will be selected.

In England the roll-out for the 2023 Autumn Covid Booster has been brought forward due to risk of new covid variant, and therefore the shots started today - Monday 11 September 2023 - for those most at risk, then from next Monday, 18 September 2023, for the general population , in priority order of risk...
