Hi.  Needed faithful 49-50 yr old sister to help with faithful 86 yr mother.  Perhaps there is a sister from Asheville or other place displaced by the storms.   This is an ideal opportunity for a pioneer.   Rooming and extra covered.   Let’s discuss.

So weird, I was just exactly this second thinking about whether I should figure out how to plan for an arrangement like this for when I get old. (I work in senior services and while I strongly believe it is necessary to have some kind of plan in place for old age, the cost of long-term care like a nursing home or skilled home nursing is so expensive that it is impossible for most people to save enough to pay for it out of pocket!)

I just know there must be a sister out there looking for a free place to live + $.  Mother’s home is nice and spacious.  It would be a comfortable arrangement.

I bet there is! Have you asked around in your own and neighboring congregations? Also, caregiving is a big responsibility so if you aren't already, it helps to be open and clear about the number of hours per week you need them to cover, and how much they will earn vs how much time they will have to do outside work if they need to. At that age most sisters have healthcare costs of their own, are helping other family members, might have a car payment, likely need to save for their own retirement. Are you open to sisters of all ages to make it more likely you find someone?

Yes.  We are asking around.  Spoke with my elders, etc.  And have leads, having conversations.  I saw this platform, give it an opportunity.   We seek spiritual, mature, no matter age.   In Charlotte, quality area rent is in $2000 range, so the value is there.  This arrangement, with several hours on their own.  For details, a sister can reach out.  The sister we had for 10 yrs must now go take care of her senior family.

My wife and I are in our eighties. Considering our age we are grateful for being in reasonable good health. We need someone for general house keeping a couple of hours a week. For few months we had the assistance of young pioneer sister whom we paid for two hours one time a week. Sadly  or happily she got married and now has a husband that totally provides for her needs. 

We have put out feelers but have found no one in the five or so local congregations who is interested in 2 hours weekly at 40 dollars an hour (which 7 dollars more than the local rate for house keeping.) Fortunately we have family that assists us but we would gladly put our money to use for some one who might need the part time employment.
