Saturday, March 1

The hope does not lead to disappointment.—Rom. 5:5.

The new world is not yet here. Note, however, some of the things that are here—the stars, the trees, the animals, and your fellow humans. No one would doubt that all these things are real, even though there was a time when they did not exist. They are now here only because Jehovah created them. (Gen. 1:1, 26, 27) Our God has also purposed to establish a new world. He will fulfill that purpose. In the new world, people will enjoy endless life in perfect health. At God’s appointed time, the new world will become as real as the universe around us today. (Isa. 65:17; Rev. 21:3, 4) In the meantime, use every opportunity you have to strengthen your faith. Build appreciation for the ransom. Contemplate Jehovah’s power. Fill your life with spiritual activities. By doing so, you can be among “those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”—Heb. 6:11, 12. w23.04 31 ¶18-19

You can't walk with God while holding hands with the Devil.

This article was a beautiful discussion of three ways that we can strengthen our faith in Jehovah’s promise of a new world: (1) by meditating on the ransom, (2) by contemplating Jehovah’s power, and (3) by spending time in spiritual activities.

And no matter how long we wait in expectation, some for many decades, our hope is not misplaced. All the promises of Jehovah become ‘yes’ by means of Jesus—2 Co 1:20, guaranteed at a most costly price.

I like the thought that just as it was for those who have gone before us, so it is for us living today—the fact that no one has ever—in all human history—had to wait more than a lifetime for the good things to come which Jehovah has promised. It's just that we are so rich in understanding and believing, and so near to the end of Satan's rule ... high anticipation and expectation can make it a struggle waiting for all the rest of the good things to begin!
