Valuable in Jehovah's eyes

Recommended Posts

We all know this feeling - this deep sense of weakness. Maybe that's how you feel right now. Physically exhausted, mentally overwhelmed, crushed by worries and problems. Perhaps you are struggling with an illness, age or a disability that makes you doubt yourself. Perhaps your imperfection makes you sad because you keep failing at the same challenges and keep experiencing setbacks.

And then there are the moments when we compare ourselves to others. We see people who seem to be able to do so much more, who are more talented, stronger or more successful - and we ask ourselves: What am I worth?

But here lies a wonderful thought that should give us courage: In the eyes of Jehovah, we are infinitely valuable. It is precisely in our weakness that his strength is revealed. And we in particular - however imperfect we may feel - can achieve great things.

A good example of this is the encounter between the 9 and the 0.

The 9 looks down on the 0 and asks: “What are you worth? Look at me - is there a bigger number than me?”

But is she really right?

Let's take a closer look:

- In the number 01.93, the 0 is almost meaningless. It is at the beginning, inconspicuous, small.

- In 39.01 it has more value - but only after the decimal point.

- But now let's look at 90.13: here the 0 gives the 9 its true size! Without the 0, the 9 would only be a puny 0.9

So it depends on where we stand. If we put ourselves at the service of others, if we remain humble and stand in Jehovah's favor - then we are valuable. Then we can achieve things that will amaze ourselves.

Perhaps we sometimes see ourselves as nothing more than a zero. But in the right position, at Jehovah's side, we become something great. We are valuable. Our weakness does not make us insignificant - it opens the door to God's power.

Let us hold on to it. Together.
