His narrative is a window into the theocratic past: I really enjoy reading about what the midweek meeting was like in the 1950s.

I smiled at the paragraph that describes Bro Splane writing an encouraging letter for the missionaries only to be given it himself to be encouraged by it 😆

 

It reminded me of an article years ago describing the circumstances where one of the Governing Body whilst 'serving' as FDS will also be fed as a domestic from the food that Jehovah uses another member of the GB to write ( Click Here  - Paragraph 13 )  The humility that the GB demonstrate is encouraging and worthy of imitation.
