Friday, January 16

The vision is yet for its appointed time.—Hab. 2:3.

We live at a time when most people reject—and even ridicule—the Bible’s warning about the end of this system of things. (2 Pet. 3:3, 4) Though there are many things that we do not know, we need to have strong faith that the end of this system of things will come right on time and that Jehovah will care for us. We must also strengthen our faith in the channel Jehovah is using today to guide us—“the faithful and discreet slave.” (Matt. 24:45) When the great tribulation begins, we may receive specific lifesaving instructions. Now is the time to strengthen our trust and confidence in the direction we receive from those taking the lead in Jehovah’s organization. We cannot expect to follow their direction confidently during the great tribulation if we struggle to follow it now. w24.09 11 ¶11-12

You can't walk with God while holding hands with the Devil.

Jehovah’s organization has been clear about neutrality, and that’s not an organizational preference—it comes from Jehovah. Neutrality means we don’t line up for or against governments or the choices they make in this system.

But neutrality doesn’t equal approval. We don’t suddenly approve of war because it happens. We don’t approve of abortion because it’s legal somewhere. Same with drug use just because laws change. Those things are still measured by Jehovah’s standards, not human ones.

That’s where it gets easy to slip. Once we start forming opinions—strong ones especially—we’ve already leaned off center. At that point it’s no longer neutrality, it’s personal judgment. I think the safer place is sticking with Jehovah’s viewpoint and leaving the rest where it belongs.

In Habakkuk 2:3 it says that the vision was for it's appointed time and also that it would not be late and that made me think of a couple of Scriptures. In Habakkuk's day that was in reference to the Chaldeans or Babylonians invading and humbling the Israelite kingdom for a period of time appointed by Jehovah.

We know that in our day we are awaiting Jehovah's day or Armageddon.

So the first Scripture I thought of was

Ecclesiastes 3:1

There is an appointed time for everything,

A time for ever activity under the heavens:

The other Scripture that came to mind is in Acts 1:7

He said to them: "It does not belong to you to know the times or seasons that the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction.

Ok, this last Scripture I am just thinking of at the moment and it is also in Acts and is one of my favorite Scriptures in the Bible.

It is Acts 3:19 because Acts 1:7 also mentions seasons I want to add this one even though the way seasons is used here may be more symbolic maybe.

Acts 3:19

“Repent, therefore, and turn around so as to get your sins blotted out, so that seasons of refreshing may come from Jehovah himself.
