“When the snowflakes dance — what they reveal to us about Jehovah’s love”

Recommended Posts

“Look, the flakes are dancing now…
the kettle whistles along…
inside it is warm and dry…
people come to rest…”

These words alone…
they stir something within us, don’t they?
Perhaps a feeling of security…
of peace…
of a moment in which the world simply becomes still.

But if we are honest…
not everyone experiences winter that way.
Some think more of…
icy roads…
traffic chaos…
cold hands…
the effort of shoveling snow…

And right there we see something interesting:
The same situation…
can be felt very differently.

Imagine two people.
An adult looks out the window and thinks:
“Snow again… this is going to be exhausting.”

A child looks outside…
and their eyes light up.
It thinks:
“Snow! Finally! I can build a snowman!
I can laugh… play… enjoy!”

The snow is the same.
But the heart…
makes the difference.

And maybe it is the same in life.
We all go through difficult times.
Cold times.
Times that feel… empty.
Or heavy.
Sometimes like a winter… that just won’t end.

But especially in such moments,
Jehovah invites us… to look differently.
Not superficially.
Not naively.
But with a deeper view.

Think for a moment about a snowflake.
So small… so fragile…
and yet…
…a small work of art.

Did you know that no snowflake is like another?
Each one is unique.
With delicate, beautiful patterns…
perfectly designed.

And now imagine…
billions of snowflakes falling from the sky…
and not one is like the other.

What does that tell us?
That behind it stands a Creator…
who not only has power…
but also a love for detail.

Jehovah did not simply “make snow.”
He placed beauty into it.
Uniqueness.
Delicacy.

And now comes the touching thought:
If Jehovah puts so much care
into a single snowflake…
…how much more into you?

You are not just one among many to him.
You are unique.
With your thoughts…
your feelings…
your worries…
…and also your tears.

In Psalm 74:17 it says:
“You have made summer and winter.”

Jehovah created the seasons.
He knows that there are times that are warm and easy…
and times that are cold and difficult.

But that also means:
Your “winter”…
is not unfamiliar to him.
He sees it.
He understands it.
And he does not leave you alone in it.

Do you remember the picture from the beginning?
Outside the snow is falling…
but inside it is warm.
The kettle whistles…
everything is calm…

This picture… is like a promise.
Because even when a storm is raging outside in life…
Jehovah wants to be a place for you
where you can find inner rest.
A place where your heart…
becomes warm again.

How does he help us with that?
Through his thoughts in the Bible.
Through the hope he gives us.
Through the assurance that these cold times will not last forever.

Perhaps you are struggling with something right now…
that no one sees.
Maybe you smile on the outside…
but inside it feels cold.

Then I want to tell you:
Jehovah sees you.
Just as he sees every single snowflake…
…he also sees you.

And you are infinitely precious to him.

And maybe…
the next time it snows, you can pause for a moment…
and look at a snowflake.

So small…
and yet so beautiful.

And then remember:
“If Jehovah designs something so small with such love…
then he has not forgotten me either.”

From the bottom of my heart, I wish for you…
that even in the “winter times” of your life
you find moments…
…that warm your heart.

And that you can feel:
Jehovah is there.
Very close.

And if you like,
we can gladly talk sometime about
the hope Jehovah gives us for the future…
…a time when there will be no more pain.
No struggle.
No inner winter.

Thank you for listening.
