“The Wrong Hands – What Really Needs to Be Fixed”

Recommended Posts

Imagine this…
you look at your watch — and immediately realize:
The hands are running wrong.
The time just isn’t right.

What would you do?
Would you just adjust the hands a little…
or would you think:
“Maybe something is wrong with the whole watch”?

A man comes to a watchmaker.
He puts two hands on the table and says:
“They’ve been showing the wrong time for weeks. Fix them!”

The watchmaker asks:
“Where is the watch?”

“At home,” says the man.

The watchmaker calmly replies:
“Without the watch, I can’t help you.”

The man gets upset:
“The watch is fine! Only the hands are broken!”

And angrily, he walks away.

A bit strange, right?
But…

if we’re honest…
we sometimes behave very similarly.

We may notice:
“Something in my life isn’t right.”

Then we try…
to be a little kinder,
a little more patient,
a little “better.”

We adjust… the hands.

But Jehovah looks deeper.
In Jeremiah 17:9,10 it says:
“The heart is more treacherous than anything else… I, Jehovah, search the heart.”

That means:
The real problem is often not on the outside…
but on the inside.

Maybe someone has tried many times to change…
and realized:
“I just can’t do it permanently.”

Why?
Because they try to correct only the behavior…
but the heart remains unchanged.

And this is exactly where Jehovah is so loving.
He does not say:
“Make yourself perfect.”

He says:
“Give me your heart.”

Like a skilled watchmaker,
he doesn’t just want the hands…
but the whole “watch.”

He wants to cleanse, heal, and realign our inner self.

Maybe you’re thinking today:
“I’ve already tried so much…”

Then this might be the key:
Not just working on the “hands”…
but giving everything to Jehovah.
Open. Honest. Completely.

The next time you look at a watch…
remember:
It’s not enough
for the hands to look good.

What really matters is…
that the watch works properly inside.

And Jehovah…
he can change your heart
so that your whole life runs “right” again.

If you let him.
