JW TV on a FAST Channel — Just a Thought for Discussion

Recommended Posts

JW TV on FAST Channels: A Possibility for the Future?

I want to be clear that I am not suggesting that a JW FAST channel exists, nor am I saying that the organization has any plans to create one. This is simply a question for discussion.

FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television) channels provide continuous programming over the internet, similar to traditional TV channels.

The idea came to mind because, in some parts of the world, including areas of Africa and South America, satellite transmissions are used to make spiritual content available where internet access may be limited. Also, not all smart TVs support JW Broadcasting apps, and some publishers—especially older ones—may find it difficult to access content through a web browser or other devices.

So my question is: What do you think? Could a JW TV channel in a FAST-style format be something the organization might find useful in the future, or do you think there would be little reason to use this type of platform?

Again, I am not implying that such plans exist. I am simply interested in hearing the brothers' and sisters' thoughts on the idea.

I often think of what TV will be like in the new world, JWB Programs 24/7, with some breaking News of the resurrected ones.

I think they could do it via satellite. They played the 2020-2022 Conventions on actual Tv Channels in many parts of the world. Maybe they could do a similar thing worldwide during The GT.

I see this idea more as a matter of convenience and accessibility than anything else.

Of course, all of the content is already available on JW.org, which is wonderful. However, on many Samsung and LG TVs, viewers usually need to open the web browser, go to JW.org, and then navigate to the video section. For some elderly brothers and sisters, or for people who are not very comfortable with technology, that process can be a little challenging.

When I mention a FAST channel, I am referring to a continuous internet-based channel that runs 24 hours a day. Similar channels already exist for movies, documentaries, cartoons, news, and other types of content. The programming simply plays continuously, making it easy for viewers to access.

I am also not referring to areas without internet access. In fact, there are already places, including some regions in Africa, where JW content is available through satellite television specifically to help areas where internet access may be limited.

The idea of a JW FAST channel would be different. It would be aimed at people who already have internet access and use smart TVs regularly. In many parts of South America, devices such as Roku, Fire TV Stick, and Apple TV are not as common as Samsung and LG televisions. Since many people use these TVs directly, having a dedicated FAST channel could make Bible-based content easier to find and enjoy.

Of course, this is just an idea. I simply think it could be another way to make Bible truth more accessible and help reach people who might not otherwise come across the content.
