Hate Crimes Against the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Western Europe

Recommended Posts

I thought some here might find this article of interest.

The article reviews documented hate incidents against Jehovah’s Witnesses across Western Europe during 2025. It argues that violence rarely begins with violence itself. Rather, it often starts with intolerance, stereotypes, and efforts to portray a religious minority as dangerous or undesirable. The author traces this progression from intolerance to discrimination and, in some cases, to acts of vandalism, threats, assaults, and other hate-motivated incidents.

Whether one agrees with every conclusion or not, the article raises an important question: What happens when negative labels and public ridicule become socially acceptable? The examples presented from a number of European countries provide a sobering look at how attitudes can influence behavior and why religious freedom deserves continued attention.

When media spread intolerance, and authorities promote discrimination, violence is a logical consequence.

Since 2006, JWTalk has proved to be a well-moderated online community for real Jehovah's Witnesses on the web. However, our community is not an official website of Jehovah's Witnesses. It is not endorsed, sponsored, or maintained by any legal entity used by Jehovah's Witnesses. We are a pro-JW community maintained by brothers and sisters around the world. We expect all community members to be active publishers in their congregations, therefore, please do not apply for membership if you are not currently one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
