Sunday, October 11

Husbands, keep on loving your wives.—Col. 3:19.

Jehovah hates anyone who is violent. (Ps. 11:5) He specifically condemns husbands who abuse their wife. (Mal. 2:16) If a husband does not treat his wife well, his relationship with God will be affected. Jehovah may not even listen to his prayers. (1 Pet. 3:7) Some husbands abuse their wife with angry words and hurtful speech. But Jehovah hates “anger, wrath, screaming, and abusive speech.” (Eph. 4:31, 32) A husband who speaks harshly to his wife damages not only his marriage but also his friendship with God. (Jas. 1:26) The same can be said of a husband who views pornography. He too damages his relationship with Jehovah. He also degrades his wife. Jehovah expects a husband to remain loyal to his wife not only in actions but also in thoughts. Jesus said that a man who looks at another woman in a passionate way has already committed adultery “in his heart.”—Matt. 5:28, 29. w25.01 9 ¶6-8

You can't walk with God while holding hands with the Devil.

I ended  up skipping this meeting for three reasons:

1. I have  insomnia, but usually try for n hour or  two  out of 24.No sleep at allllast night.

2. Was having a  hard time with respiratory effects,  not sure if  allergies  or  cold. Now seems more like allergies.

3. No one showed  up to drive  me. A new group overseer came  two  weeks ago and I  got  to attend  in person. I have requested time and  again  for someone to come.I did discuss with one elder  that I have not been driving and he seemed to agree. I try to  be relatively  'ready.' I need a  second eye surgery, have had  my  broken elbow screwed  together, and have very  limited mobility.

4.  Th subject matter is  painful.  I was married before coming into the truth and  dear husb never got baptized. He was an angry drunk and beat me regularly,  including but not limited to shooting a hand gun at me.The bullet grazed over my head.  He also always practiced immorality.  I am  suffering,  now, from some  of  his decisions, but  still  try to respect his choices. None of my sons followed  into the truth, but followed the way he treated  me, like a job function,  maid, slave,  meal ticket.   Before  he died, he let my next to yungest son's gf move in with. I was living elsewhere at the time, having been kicked  out by  dear husb.  He told me I could come back home, but drank himself to  death before that  happened.  I finished moving back in,  but have  been robbed  of all my savings by  son and gf. Thy have also  taken my  soc sec up  til  last month. That is why  have no $$$ for fuel. I paid off all husb's bills when he died,  and stayed married for over 40 years. My first born son was headed here when he died  unexpectedly last  year.  My son that is here and his gf have a condo in Fla but have been living  off me, here, for the four years that I  have been widowed.  Trying to get them  to  move,  need an atty  to file eviction,  but my last soc sec  was overdrawn before it got here. I am trying to collect monies owed to me in time to get some fuel.Son name calls and is hurtful but not physical. They should be moving soon and  at least they will be warm  in Fla. Not asking for advice, prayers please, as I have  used all the obvious avenues.Sad to see my dog hungry,  but I am preparing anything I can, and expect to get some puppy supplies tomorrow. Hope your Sunday was motivating.
