A little side-project using WT Library & Video Transcriptions

Recommended Posts

Had some time to kill while looking after my sister's farm while she's on hols, so I decided on a project to bring semantic vector search to the WT-Library i.e. I can type a full question or paraphrase and it searches on meaning, rather than just finding a keyword match, which itself might not be in the paragraphs searched. AI runs the search and formats the answer. It's restricted to only using the DB and/or selected jw.org pages.

Claude AI decompiled the WT-DB and wrote all the extracted articles and media to a new DB with hybrid keyword/vector mapping.

I also added options to include searching the jw.org Global communications pages.

I'm now adding transcriptions from selected video sections e.g. Morning Worship to the DB

It's very much work under development, but so far it's functioning as planned. Obviously this is for my own use only, and can't be shared, as there's copyright on the Library. But once I've nailed it all down, I could share the process on how to do this yourself.

And before someone asks ' Why?" it's because I found the regular search frustrating in many instances. This just suits more how I think. YMMV
