Cute dolphin.

That bottom pic looks like the ocean. When I think of Vegas I think of a big city with an elaborate tourist strip full of casinos and adult oriented musical shows. I've never been there though so my depiction of it is more poisoned by TV than anything :)

the last time i went to vegas with my worldly husband and kids was the last time i will ever go to vegas. you could not PAY me to go. it was a very ugly place that reeks of Satan and his influence. i have been so many times before i was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and having gone as one of Jehovah's Witnesses i can truthfully say that there is nothing there that i would travel there to see if i have to wade through all the muck to see it, no offense to the original post that brought this topic to this site. i was just pressured yesterday from my family to return to vegas for another trip and i am standing my ground. they can all go without me and it will be a happy day when Jehovah destroys that city. it reminds me of sodom and gomorrah.

nope, brother angle. you have not been misled. what you've seen and heard and come to believe is true. don't waste your money or energy or your time or risk harming your spirituality by going! there are so many other beautiful places to visit that sing Jehovah's praises!

There are gorgeous places outside of the gambling area do some research. Go to red rock and a few other parks I'm so glad I got to experience that. As for the hotels one of them has dolphins u can get close too and a pool for swimming by them.

i should not be so vocal out of respect for all of the wonderful families that live there and also for the need for kingdom proclaimers to preach the word. i live about 7 hours drive from there along the beautiful central coast that spoils me as far as beauty goes.... along with live dolphins and sea lions to see in their natural habitat. please forgive me for being so blunt. for all of my fellow JWs that live in vegas, mea culpa!

I love the beach I miss it a lot and get homesick ine summer most of all. Just knowing my family is out there on the beach and hanging out with all the sisters and brothers from my old hall makes me feel down. We are trying to get out there sometime this summer but does not look promising.

Oh My: I am so sorry my dear sister you feel that way.

There are many things to do here besides the things you seen.

There is Red Rock Canyon, Lee Canyon skiing in winter or summer a cool place to go, Valley of Fire these are just a few of the over dozen State & National Parks.

You must have seen the Smut Peddlers (that is what we here in Vegas call them ) that hand out those adult themed cards that litter the Strip.

You could go to the Pioneer Saloon where Clark Gable sat for days after the tragedy of his wife actress Carole Lombard died in a plane crash on Potisie Mt.

We also have the Bodies Exhibition, and theTitanic artifact Exhibition, I have seen them both and they are very nice, our bodies how wonderfully made by Jehovah, the Titanic is just neat history.

If you like cars check out the Auto Collection at the Imperial Palace, very cool cars. Now for you CSI fans we have the very cool CSI Experience at my place of work the MGM Grand Hotel. Growing up here as one of Jehovahs people I have learned to look at the other side of something bad, and see Jehovahs beauty in it.

You think the Las Vegas Strip is bad, go to New Orleans on Bourbon St, WOW.

So i am sure there are many states that we can go to and find much badness, but we need to heed what Jehovah tells us at ===

1Peter 2 says,

Accordingly, put away all badness and deceitfulness and hypocrisy and all sorts of backbiting and as new born infants from a longing for the unadulterated milk belonging to the word, that through it you may grow to salvation provided you have tasted that the Lord is kind.

So please dont judge where I live as being so awful, when you have not seen the desert blossom as a rose.

I cant even begin to imagine what Jehovah is going to do to this Desert.

If you do come I will show the better parts of Las Vegas, but please wait till the heat goes away.

Your brother Rich Barschdorf in Las Vegas.

The sister that stated she would not return to Las Vegas. I can relate to

your view of Las Vegas. I also can relate to the sister who lives their.

Here in Hampton, where I live is near a strip....not as bad as it has been

but when i came here...hookers can be seen walking the streets in broad day

light. There was drugs etc.

My son think its the worse place to live. It has tamed quite a bit and it

just so happens that it's part of our field service territory.

They have cleaned it up a lot.

I went to Las vegas some years ago to a poetry seminar and stayed at the

Hilton....Casino right down stairs....right on the strip...yea...it was bad

back then...porno mag scattered on the streets, but I must confess, I was no

better then the rest who walked the streets. I was in the world although I

have always abhorred porno and hookers, but I realize that, that was the bad

side of LasVegas and there are some beautiful places and sites in Las Vegas.

We just can't judge a City by a few blocks. All Cities has it's slum area.

We know what we left behind yesterday but we don't know what we'll leave

behind today...not until it's over.

Stay strong. Stand firm. We are one more day closer to Paradise.

Red Rock looks cool on TV. I use to love watching the Moody Blues at Red Rocks on PBS :-)

Do any of you Vegas people recognized the name Sanelli, Battle, or Williams (they are all related but each go to different congregations I think)

There are gorgeous places outside of the gambling area do some research. Go to red rock and a few other parks I'm so glad I got to experience that. As for the hotels one of them has dolphins u can get close too and a pool for swimming by them.
