  1. On November 13th in the Leisach community hall, numerous people present commemorated Jehovah's Witness Helene Delacher, who was executed by the Nazi regime in 1943. Under the motto "SIMPLY BRAVE" a stumbling block was laid for her at a memorial event on the 80th anniversary of her death - the first ever in East Tyrol. Across Europe, over 100,000 stumbling blocks already commemorate the fates of Nazi victims. The community of Leisach and the Lila Winkel association, an association for the rehabilitation and support of victims of the Nazi era, invited. Helene Delacher is considered the only Austrian Jehovah's Witness sentenced to death and executed by the Nazi military justice system. Peter Stocker, board member of the Lila Winkel association, as well as Dr. Gerti Malle, Mauthausenguide and Mag.ᵃ Alexandra Schmidt, chairwoman of the Remember Villach association, emphasized in their speeches the extraordinary importance of a living culture of remembrance. Helene Delacher's farewell letter to her then fiancé, Alois Hochrainer, read out by Natalie Hasslacher, and the ceremonial handover of Lena Huber's pre-scientific work to the community of Leisach about Delacher's fate also showed the interest of young people in this topic. A new composition “Da Helene z`liab” by Walter Hasslacher dedicated to Helene Delacher was the moving musical highlight of the event. Thanks also go to Mayor Ing. Bernhard Zanon, who supported this memorial project from the start and who dedicated a place of honor to Helene Delacher, a daughter of the community of Leisach, with East Tyrol's first stumbling block directly in front of the community office. 2. Hi all! I would like new and interesting illustrations on the importance of Jesus’ ransom sacrifice to use. I know the illustration of the train switchman, which is really good. Any of you have any that you like? Long ones, short ones, I’d love to hear them all! Thanks!
  3. The montly broadcast for MARCH is approximately a week away! A special month indeed...why? Commemoration of the death of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Campaign to tell honest-hearted ones about Jehovah God's greatest gift to mankind! Five Saturdays (and 4 full weekends) in March; a wonderful opportunity to auxillary pioneer or increase our time in this life-saving work! Last, but not least, to watch JWB and see if there are any nice surprises (hint: feature film trailer, etc.) Who else is excited?!
  4. We had a beautiful memorial Tuesday, a big turn out and a great talk given by one of our former circuit overseers from nearly 9 years ago! He still sounded exactly the same as before, and was just as enjoyable. Anyway, I wanted to pose the question, does anyone else get nervous passing a full wine glass? I felt like I was handling the ark of the covenant in those 2 seconds, our glasses weren't large but they were nearly full. I couldn't help but cringe watching the wine swing itself in the glass when the brother in front of me reached across 2 seats to give to a sister. I've only twice heard of people actually spilling it, one was a child and the other an elderly sister. Have you witnessed this in your location?
