  1. I suppose you could say his brain was washed clean. (Romans 12:2) And stop being molded by this system of things, but be transformed by making your mind over, so that you may prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Ephesians 4:23, 24) And you should continue to be made new in your dominant mental attitude, 24 and should put on the new personality that was created according to God’s will in true righteousness and loyalty. (1 Corinthians 6:11) And yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean; you have been sanctified; you have been declared righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.
  2. From the life style of punk rockers that I was aware of, I wouldn't think one could be a punk rocker and a JW? Anyone know for sure what this means: [A 2009 documentary called Beware: Jehovah’s Witnesses branded Chistyakov "a brainwashed sectarian." Nol was popular in the Soviet Union, and then in its former republics, in the late 1980s and the 1990s. ] Are they saying that a documentary by JW's branded "Chistyakov "a brainwashed sectarian?
  3. That's okay. Thanks for posting it.
  4. Thank you, I didn't realize that when he said "What is God's name" he was referring to the video: "Does God have a name". The video is the same pictures so thank you for that Matthew.
  5. Is that video available in English? I didn't find one with a search of: what is God's name
  6. 98, Looks like a cold front is coming in Saturday.

  8. Hi Johan, did you see the video on theophoric names at the top of this page?
  9. In modern Hebrew, not ancient, right?
  10. Does this from the Insight book help? WAW [ו]. The sixth letter of the Hebrew alphabet. In pronunciation this letter corresponds generally to the English “w,” as in “wine”; at times, however, in modern Hebrew it is given the sound of English “v.” In this work it is transliterated as “w” (ו), “u” (וּ), and “oh” (וֹ). Apart from its use as a prefix, it is rarely used as an initial letter, usually being substituted for by the letter yohdh (י). In the Hebrew, it appears at the beginning of each of the eight verses of Psalm 119:41-48.
  11. That's scary. Seems par for the course in Russia. Where did you hear that? Do you have a link?
  12. Thank you BibleSteve. That is sad as their pattern doesn't seem to fit them releasing him out of mercy or righteousness or anything.
  13. I didn't get a response above so I thought I would ask if anyone knows what the latest is on Dennis Christensen?
  14. Does this mean that the trial for Dennis Christensen is scheduled for July 23, 2017? https://www.jw.org/en/news/legal/by-region/russia/court-rejects-appeal-20170628/ ... . The FSB requested a court order to keep Mr. Christensen in pretrial detention until July 23, 2017—although he is a peaceful individual without a criminal record—in order to allow time to build a case against him on extremism charges. ...
