This is disturbing on so many levels...

Baby born to Romanian girl, 10, in Spain

A 10-year-old girl from Romania has given birth in southern Spain, officials in the region have said.

The girl gave birth to a daughter last week in the city of Jerez de la Frontera, said Andalucia's social affairs minister Micaela Navarro.

Officials are deciding whether the mother and her family can keep custody, Ms Navarro said.

The father of the baby is also believed to be a minor, aged 13, who is still in Romania, Spanish media have said.

"What we have to ensure is that both the mother, who in this case is a minor as well, and the baby are absolutely taken care of," said Ms Navarro.

"If they can be well cared for, they can stay with the family," she said.

The baby's grandmother, who is a Roma gypsy, was photographed in Spanish newspapers smiling outside the family's modest block of flats in the town of Lebrija, AFP reports.

Her 10-year-old daughter is reported to have moved to Spain from Romania just three weeks ago.

The woman, identified only as Olimpia, was quoted as saying that the mother was "very well, like the daughter, who is very well and very pretty".

According to the Andalucia daily, Diario de Jerez, which first reported the story, the grandmother could not understand the wide level of interest in the case as "this is the age we get married in Romania".

The latest statistics show that 177 girls under the age of 15 gave birth in Spain in 2008.

The sad thing was when I went to the link there were 'related news stories' at the bottom the first of which was a 17 year old girl that just gave birth to her SECOND set of triplets and she had a child before the first set of triplets. From Argentina I believe the news story stated. The mother of SEVEN children at the age of 17... I can not even imagine!

isnt it sad that im appalled by these stories but not that shocked?

my wife isnt one of JEHOVAHS people (... yet) but i found out just this morning that she had been talking to one of the mums from up the school where my child attends, and had been praising the moral standards of JEHOVAHS witnessess & the good upbringing they give to their children.

when you read stories about CHILDREN giving birth to CHILDREN, you really do see the protection that JEHOVAH brings to his congregation.

" I, JEHOVAH am your god, the one teaching you to benefit yourself"

ISAIAH 48:17 (even i could find that scripture!)

" I, JEHOVAH am your god, the one teaching you to benefit yourself"

"Oh if only you would listen to my commandments!" that verse continues. You can just hear Jehovah shaking his head and yet still pleading with the people.

I really feel sad for those who are in the truth, and fall away and learn the hard way before returning and then having all those consequences to bear for the rest of their lives. Had they just listened to counsel and the experience of others they could have saved themselves so much pain and heartache.

and i learnt the hard way bob im afraid :(, still, better late than never... literally! :)

Me too. I took an interest in the scriptures at 13 and then at 16 my interests turned elsewhere. I was sucked out to sea and tossed about by the waves until I came to my senses at 25 years old. I made A LOT of mistakes during those 8 years away from the congregation, and some of them will haunt me to time indefinite.

the things i did that JEHOVAH saw will always hang over me even though i know he has forgiven me. ive fed my brain some sick things over the years and i will have to put up with whats in there until JEHOVAH can "reboot my computer" in the new sysytem, wiping the harddisc as it were.

as has been said lets hope the youngster can learn from our mistakes and more importantly heed the warnings of the JEHOVAHS organisation as in what we should and shouldnt be doing/watching/listening to.

i was addicted to pornography.... literally addicted! and i still see those things on a daily basis, and it can be anywhere because they are implanted in my head, branded there.

anyway, im here now, and im going to do some ministry this morning and then im going to feel better about myself!

thanks everyone, good to talk about things.

I don't think so Bob... Jehovah promises to wipe away all our tears and with your faithful service I believe that all the sadness of this time will not remain in our memories. I too have very sad memories of past acts, although I was not in the truth at the time, I now know that I always believed in Jehovah and he was always leading me to his way no matter what the mistakes in the past. One of the CO's in CA - Newbury Park Congregation, gave a terrific talk that you probably have also heard. He started by saying that he knew that many in the congregation knew of problems in the congregation and then went on to describe a congregation that had so many problems and wrong doing going on at the same time. He listed the problems and acts and then ask the audience if they knew of such a congregation where that might all be going on. Of course as you might have already guessed it was the Corinthian Congregation. He ended with the thought that past is yesterday and you can not change it. Tomorrow is the first day of your new faithful course. Such a loving talk!

Before returning to the truth, I had seen some but I don't know if I would call it addiction. But the branded in your head comment is so true. Images used to pop up in the mind at random and it was very irritating. Not anymore, but if I chose to, I could recall any image I have ever seen almost instantly. On the other hand, I forget important stuff while retaining that garbage.

anyway, im here now, and im going to do some ministry this morning and then im going to feel better about myself!

We're glad you're here now. Serving Jehovah always makes me fell better about myself too!

Or rather, the memories of these sad times will no longer get us down, and the ill effects of suffering in this system of things will be completely undone, whether it be physical damage or mental damage incurred as a result of the poor choices we made.

“For here I am creating new heavens and a new earth; and the former things will not be called to mind, neither will they come up into the heart.” Isaiah 65:17

I understand and agree with what you are saying. I used the term "time indefinite" on purpose, because I know they will not haunt me forever.

Interesting use of the word. I like it and keeping up with it as much as I can.

Nooooo! Time Indefinite has a limit, whereas forever has no time limit! Jehovah said that his name would be on the temple in Jerusalem for time indefinite. But as you know, it was taken away. The 144,000 will live forever, no time limit.

Well you learn something new everyday....just did a quick look on wtcdrom....thanxs Bob and Devin.....

The Hebrew word translated “forever” in most translations, and “to time indefinite” in the New World Translation, is ‛olam′. Its basic meaning is “hidden” or “concealed” and relates to time. Hence it means “time indefinite.” It may mean many years or it may mean eternity. Exodus 31:16 and Leviticus 24:8 use it concerning a part of the law covenant and Isaiah 21:5 uses it concerning the entire law covenant, calling it “the everlasting covenant.” (AV) Numbers 25:13 uses it when speaking of “an everlasting priesthood.” (AV) But Galatians 3:24, 25 and Colossians 2:14 show the law covenant ended with Christ’s death and resurrection, and Hebrews chapter 7 shows an ending to the law and the “everlasting priesthood.” This time period was concealed, but it had an end.

"Time indefinite" refers to into the unforseeable future. It could be forever, but usually does not mean forever. It is possibly or potentially without end. You do not want to necessarily think of it as "time undetermined" however, because several things have an appointed time.

I hadn't read that article about how it's root is "concealed". I like that.

My husband and I were reflecting the other day on how prayer changes you from the inside out. It's almost like when you are praying you give Jehovah access to your hard drive, the way you can give access to a technician to have your computer repaired remotely. He can go in there and clean it up and defrag and reinstall drivers, what ever you need - if you have installed the proper software by studying the Bible! And of course, it's an on going process.

unfortunately this is not going to happen at this time, we all have to face the consequences of what weve done even though JEHOVAH forgives us, i think od davids life inthis regard, i do think that the more positive things, wholesome things i can study & meditate on (or program in !) the less the disgusting things ive seen will come to mind. thanks for your thoughts

much brotherley love stuagu
