Woohoo!!! We had an earthquake here in Youngstown at 7am this morning. It was only a 2.6 but it was still felt.

Is that the first one you've experienced? We have not ever had any here, that we were aware of, anyway.

Having lived in California all my life, I didn't know you could feel a 2.6 earthquake. We typically don't feel anything less than a 4 or 5. Hee hee...

I grew up in Orange County, moved to Riverside county in '86, moved to Palm Springs area in '91...cant usually feel them unless theyre over a 5...

I was 30 miles from the Landers Quake. It was a 6.9, I think they re-did it to a 7.2...

I walked wide flanges, steel beams about 6" wide, 20' up,during some of the aftershocks, some of which were over 6.0...great fun!....

I guess feeling the quake depends on where one is at the moment. We had one tremor on Tuesday this week. All the way from Kenya as if following the equator. I doubt we even have machines to record just how powerful or not it was so...

I was driving at the time, did not feel it but those still at home did;-)

We don't have quakes very often in Africa and that was quite a big one for Africa Maureen, at 5.0. We didn't feel it down south, not that I noticed anyway.

we had a very very very small earthquake in Treharris South Wales UK...about 8 years ago...it was in the local paper and on the local news...but I slept through it...

Sian, it was reported in a local paper that Youngstown, Ohio had a small one, 2.6 or so, Thursday morning about 6:30 in the morning. Some felt a thud, others said windows rattled....I'm about 15 miles from Youngstown and felt nothing. They did mention that it is the first known earthquake to be centered in Youngstown, had others in nearby Pennsylvania or in area of Youngstown, they too small in scale.
