A Poem about Paradise - My Beautiful Garden

Recommended Posts

This was for my GrandFather...Ezekiel McAbee. I can't wait to see him again.

My Beautiful Garden

As we stroll through my beautiful garden

I take my grandpas’ hand;

I can’t stop the tears from flowing;

it’s so good to see him again.

He’s amazed at his surroundings

cause everything seems so new.

The world looks like a paradise,

Lions and tigers are friendly too.

He finds no one starving

or living on the street.

No more crime or violence;

since money ‘s obsolete.

No need for a policeman,

doctors or a nurse.

No one’s sick or dying;

Our God wiped away the curse.

Every race of people

Now live in harmony.

All are brothers and sisters;

Finally… true equality.

I explain with satisfaction

how God made wars to cease;

He destroyed all things wicked

and filled the earth with peace.

All of our friends and family

Who have gone to sleep in death

will soon be here to join us

when they awaken from their rest.

Imagine the contentment

as grandpa looks to see

my face as he introduces

his grandparents to me.

As we stroll through my beautiful garden,

I hold my grandpas’ hand;

can’t stop my smile from gleaming;

it’s so good to see him again

In my beautiful garden.

So we have a poet among us :-)

That was very nice, Sister Moss. I had a grandmother (not in the truth) pass away a few years ago, and I was asked to say something at her funeral. I wrote a short little talk about seeing her again here on earth and having a glass of ice tea once again. It was cute.

Then some preacher guy got up and talked a bunch of silliness about God taking her from us because it was her time. They just don't get how offensive that is in reality.

Hey Sis,

Just read your poem, it was beautiful...gave me goose bumps! I can't wait to see my dad again...he's been gone 3 years now....I miss him so much...he wasn't a witness but he wanted to know more, how to pray to Jehovah and I would read the daily text to him, and he went to a few meetings with me....then he suddenly passed away! I should have drawn strength from Jehovah, but I became even more depressed than I already was....got new meds now, so I am better and learning to draw strength from Jehovah like I should have been doing all along....I can't wait to see my daddy again....and his parents, it's been 4 years since mawmaw has been gone....So I have much to look forward to...especially petting a Tiger my favorite!

Love ya sis,

Tammy

My grandma died about 5 years ago. She was like my mom. I loved her more than life itself. If it hadn't been for her and PaPa, I'd have been on e messed up little girl, but they teught me to love and that's why I'm the person I am today.I write a poem for her right before she died.

The Big Green House

Oh, the love, I'll forever feel

from that Big Green House on the hill.

Soaring around through my mind like a dove

are memories made in that "House of Love".

Sitting in the rockers on the front porch,

breaking beans, shelling peas and shucking that corn

PaPa worked hard in his garden, just to provide

but the pleasure received there, he never could hide.

Every Sunday, fried chicken you'd cook just for me

I didn't know then what a chore that would be.

The scent of pies would flow thru the air,

and my favorite, chocolate pie would always be there.

Going fishing with PaPa, you'd better not talk.

If you scared the fish, he'd surely balk!

In the shade of the apple tree, cleaning those fish,

to do this again, I continuously wish.

Oh, how swollen with pride I'd always be;

going to church in a dress made 'specially for me.

And when you'd sew us one thats alike

I'd feel so special, my world was just right.

You trained me to sew, crochet and do crafts.

Together we made Barbie clothes there on the couch.

I miss you so much when whenever we're apart,

but recalling the past brings songs to my heart.

Thanks for the memories and the special love you gave.

Your house was a haven which my minds eye will save.

My only hope is that I might possibly be,

half as special to my grandchild as you are to me.

Oh how lonely I'll evermore feel

missing the love lost, in that house on the hill.
