We met the LaFranca's about 20 years ago when they were visiting some mutual friends. They wanted to see the snow around Lake Tahoe but the brother they were visiting wasn't able to take them so we volunteered to drive, we traveled for several hours telling old jokes.

His responsibility at that time involved scheduling the Circuit Overseers, so he knew all of the CO's and they knew him. He and Alice were visiting the same friends last year and stopped by the assembly hall to take a tour, we happened to have served lunch that day and I was in the kitchen doing dishes when they stopped by to say hello.  Very nice couple.
