No pics in Photo Album

I was wondering how come no body has pics in their photo album? :S

I mean if we don't see what each other look like how could we recognize one another say like in a international convention of in the new system?

Just wondering!!!! :shrugs:

Probably because there is no "share" mechanism or newsfeed. If you want people to look at your album, then you would have to post to the forum, and since this is not a social networking site such as Facebook that caters towards me-ism by default, you would look like you had a major major ego if you did.

I contributed a little bit financially along with other forum owners to the programmer who created that script built to our specs and requests, in case someone wanted to use it and not have to link somewhere else where their identity might be made known if they did not want it to be. But people still just default to attaching pics to posts, because we are a discussion forum by nature, so that is what comes naturally.

oohhh i see! its mostly for discussion. ok no problem i was just wondering. it's not that i have a major ego or anything i am very humble, i always see the photo album link and i never saw any bodies photos in them, that's wat got me wondering.

say i are you an IT guy? I am an IT technician and sometimes i wonder how this website is hosted, is it by home or company?

I just want to know how i could help in maintaining this awesome site.

I am a self-taught internet junkie who started with a WebTV in 1996 and taught myself HTML, a little Javascript, a little more Perl, and even more PHP. The software is open source, and I have hacked and tweaked it to the point where it looks very little to the bare bones copy that comes with the installation package. It is hosted on a shared server for now, along with about 16 other websites I either run for myself or for others.

What I mean about it being a discussion forum VS a social network is this...

Discussion forum:

*** Let's choose a Topic.

*** Let's discuss this topic.

*** Activity revolves around the topic.

Social Network:

*** Here are pictures of ME.

*** This update is about ME.

*** Don't you love ME!

*** ME! ME! ME!

:P

it's kool that you are self taught internet junkie. i always want to learn HTML and all those other scripts but never came around to it, always like to dig up in the computers and networks, maybe some day i will put my head to learning scripts.

And I appreciate this discussion forum where we can share thoughts and ideas with fellow believers really hate the ME! ME! ME! thing.

But thank you for this great site, i there a cost for the web service how can i contribute.

seriously though... i have no idea how this website thing works, not a clue, im just glad it does.

the biggest compliment i can give this site is that, and i dont say this lightly, it has improved my relationship with Jehovah. as a fairly immature person spiritually, some of the threads provide imformation that has corrected certain aspects of my behaviour bringing me closer to what Jehovah and closer to what he requires of me, me, ME! ....see it is all about me!

If you took your sunglasses off and removed your tie I probably wouldn't recognise you - you will therefore have to wear both until you have met us all.

(I'll be the one with my face turned towards the sun)

so if see a field of sunflower i would be like :huh: , which one is sunshine :S

I feel the same way stuart, since becoming a regular on this site it helps me to stay focus on Jehovah and the organisation and to stay focus spiritually.

This is truly one of the best sites on the internet. (<img src=)'> >:D< :dance:

Not really. I pay for the domains jwtalk.com .net and .org and privacy registration, which is not much at all. The hosting is part of my secular business, and all hobby sites just piggy back on that, which I would be paying for regardless.
