Co-worker brings humor to the night shift.

Recommended Posts

Our floor has recently had the addition of an ICU nurse to help when we are in a bind.  She is very easy to work with and everyone has enjoyed her sense of humor.  She and her husband are a,so standup comedians and writers.  They write jokes for SNL and done for Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert Ellen, and others.

The other night she was engaged in a topic with several others re: teen years and how kids think they know everything.  She said off the cuff:  'No man knows the hour of Christ's return. But I'm pretty sure there's a teen girl somewhere who knows when. Because mine knows everything.'

I asked her to describe her style of writing and she said 'Christian'.  Digging deeper , because that's what I do, she said to her that means no sexually perverted material and no vulgar swear words.  Her husband is also a radio personality here who I have heard of but did not know was her husband.

Her husband said 'I am a writer.  That's what I do for a living.  70% is crap. I make a living off 30%.  I like to imagine how rich I'd be if I were any good.'

She also does voice overs.

The other morning about 4 am, she was sitting at the desk chuckling to herself.  Someone asked 'What are you laughing about?'  She said 'You all. You're halirious.  Or at least you will be by the time I'm through with ya.'

Last one before bed time.

This has to do with casual jean Friday.  Which is only for office personnel not nursing.

supervisor: Nice Costume.
Me: I'm wearing Jeans
Supervisor: Yeah, this is a professional place of business. So I assumed you were dressed up today as someone unemployed.

Me: No, since there is a new job opening, I came dressed for the interview..
