I hope I did not post this song before  or  anyone else.

No, I don’t recall that song being posted. I’m surprised I didn’t think to post it.

2 great songs I couldn’t get enough of

Of course Roberta Flack is a great artist....but I really liked Donny Hathaway’s voice in this particular song.

These guys had some really good songs in the 60’s and early 70’s. Here’s one of my favorites. The lead singer Levi Stubbs  has a great voice.

Love them both. I posted some Donny Hathaway songs in this thread. My favorite by him is his live version of little ghetto boy. If you type in Hathaway in the search engine, it’s the fourth that pops up :)

I must have been distracted that day.....I don’t remember that post. Nice. I like both those songs.  “I love you more than you’ll ever know”. and “little ghetto boy”. (tu)

Not many may care for this, but I love drums. I used to play drums since back when I was in high school. In recent years I had to give it up due to losing my hearing (80%).

I’ve got some favorites, like John Bonham of Led Zepplin is a great drummer. Today, as with guitars, drums have greatly been improved in there sound. But I have to say, despite that, Buddy a Rich was an incredible player.  He makes it look easy. When I was a kid he was known as the fastest drummer in the world.  You’ll see what I mean if you watch the whole thing.

This group, “The Guess Who” had a bunch of hits back in the day, thanks to this singer songwriter, Burton Cummings. This song is about a girl who has become disillusioned over this world..and is suicidal. One part he says: “too many churches, and not enough truth.”

John Bonham is one of my favorites. I like his mathematical and precise drumming. My all time favorite drummer is Danny Carey from Tool. I especially like his drumming in the songs ticks & leeches and reflection. Here’s a video on John Bonham that I saw some time ago that really made me appreciate him more.

I’ve heard of Burton Cummings but never heard this before. I really enjoyed it :)

Another one from Burton Cummings and The Guess Who. Most younger ones are more familiar with the remake by Lenny Kravitz.

American woman....the original. Love the sound of the guitar riff about half way through.

Little older here. His old band mate Randy Bachman (on the left) , formed another group in the 70s that had a couple hits. They were “Bachman, Turner overdrive.”  Anyway this was The Guess Whos first hit. “These eyes”. Love the bass guitar here.
