Headphones highly recommended :D.

Alison Krause did a great job with this song, but this is the original.

Baby, now that I found you

Mofak feat Temu - On The Come Up

I've been looking for this for years ever since I heard it. The chorus is the best part. Before I paid attention to the video, I was just thinking to myself it feels just right for Boogaloo moves, and that's what they are doing in the video. 😄

Joe Walsh has been around for a long time. Before he ended up playing with The Eagles he had 2 other gigs. One was with the “James Gang”. Here is a song from them I use to listen to back in 1971. “Walk away”  great drums in this song. When I played drums many years ago, this was my favorite to play. Sounded harder than what it was.

Here’s a hit he had under his own name.  Rocky Mountain way.

Some cool songs by JJCale. If you like this kind of music, he has a good album, the best of JJ Cale

JJ Cale was  relatively unknown in the mainstream but he was a celebrity among the celebrities. Great influence on Eric Clapton and others in that league. He was a mixer of blues, Americana, Cajun music, swamp rock......great song writer too. Wrote “after midnight “ for Eric Clapton and many others including these 3.

Doyle Bramhall, Derek Trucks, JJ Cale, & Eric Clapton....... Don’t cry sister cry

This is John Mayer doing a  JJ Cale cover.    Magnolia, it’s a  beautiful song.

Wow. This is the first time I’ve heard a John Mayer song where he didn’t sound like himself. I also listened to the original before listening to this one. Both are beautiful songs :)

@Brother Jack I saw him perform that on Soul Train, it went down really well, as I think he was one of the first white performers to go on there, and people say they were blown away by his sound.

Yes, I’ve seen that performance before and watched it again before posting that song. I was gonna post it but they lip sync on soul train so it’s not a true performance. I thought you would like it because of the funky beat.

Nice playing but I disagree with the title of the second video. I wouldn’t consider the solo in hotel California one of the best in the world. It was mediocre in my opinion. Very skillful playing but nothing special about it.

I agree, I wouldn’t consider it an outstanding in regards to the skill aspect. I think almost any professional player could duplicate it.

For me it’s the song or tune itself (which is a subjective thing) that I like a lot.

Like the solo in stairway to heaven. Many have the skill to play it. But for me it’s the tune itself along with the skill required.

Actually, I’ve  always been most impressed by those who write the music. I think that takes real genius to write a beautiful songs. That of course is subjective like other different forms of art. :coffee:

Yeah, I really wouldn’t know because I never learned how to play the guitar. I’m like you, I like overall sound coupled with skill. For example SRV was a very skilled guitarist but Jimi Hendrix had a better sound and was very skilled to go with it. SRV had a good sound too, though. I like the solo in dogs by Pink Floyd and stranglehold by Ted Nugent. I wanted to post it here but it has a bad word in it. There’s many solos I like. Too many to list :)

Here’s a good example of music sampling in Hip Hop. The song cantaloupe island by Herbie Hancock was sampled as well as 2 other songs to make this one.

A few great tunes by The Beach Boys. Back in the 60s, there was a good competition going on between Brian Wilson and Lennon & McCartney . They have both often talked about it.

God only knows, the name of this song.

Wouldn’t it be nice?

This my favorite.  Don’t worry baby
