Paradise and a new passport photo

Recommended Posts

I have heard that there is nothing more miserable in the world than to arrive in paradise and look like your passport photo. I remember when I got my picture taken at the post office for my passport the woman there appeared to not really care about her job or delivering quality customer service. She told me to stand up against the wall and look into the camera and I remember brushing my hair back right as she snapped the picture. She scoffed at me and told me to be ready next time. Then she shouted Ready and startled me and I jumped. The third time I had a frown on my face because I don't like strangers shouting at me. I asked her if we could get retakes (like they use to do in school) and she smiled warmly and said "Certainly" This time I asked her if I could do the count down and say Ready then I wouldn't be surprised and would have my hair out of my eyes and a smile on my face. So I said, One (brushed the hair from my face) Twol (wiped my teeth to make sure no unsightly lipstick was on them) Three (plastered a big old phony smile on my mug) then said Ready. This time SHE sneezed. I said "There it's not so easy is it?" By this time people were starting to stare so I said I would take the photo then she said that will be $40.00. I was shocked and said "I thought they were $20.00" and she rudely replied "That's before you had retakes". It is true about postal workers. They seem to carry some type of chip on their shoulders....

whoa..... I would have asked to see her manager on that one.. then after all the problems..... she says 40.00 bucks... :tsk:...

No wonder people aren't really feeling sorry for them losing their jobs... :nope: with that kind of service I certainly see why..

I may be tired and in pain :wheelchair: but I'll never   :surrender: to it just send some encouraging words or hugs  :kisscheek:  :encourage:  and I'll return the same   :kisscheek:  :encourage:

I think I would have said, "Thanks, but I've changed my mind." and left.

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.
