House feature : the colors

Dages

Recommended Posts

This "feature" topic is not about a general "type", but more about a precise feature that you find very important for your personal taste.

This one is definitely in my toplist : the colors... the tones... this is what gives a real feeling of warmth/cozyness to a place, imho.

Here is an example :

Look at these dark tones (and the stairs are just gorgeous). I love this.

Generally, the house is very nice, and these wood/dark walls are really my style.

These stairs, woah...

bhc58_8407b.jpg?1534212207

bhc35_7966b.jpg?1534211989

bhc50_8157b_rvz3.jpg?1534212151

This is a nice house, but way too big to be convenient, in my opinion. I don't want to spend my day cleaning it. :D

Do you like these colors? What is your style?

Pool, all white, the way the wall are made, like it's digged in the rock... and the awesome view... I'd love to get there.

This "cave-like" walls are great, I like this so much.

s19.jpg?1504874984

Night style is great too.

After wood/brown and white walls, here is another one.

No, the color feature isn't really understandable in this picture.

Let me show you :

1800529-10_Haus_am_Meer_GERNER_GERNER_PL

Yeah, rocky wall, but this one isn't the usual grey rock one, it's more white/beige, it's quite common in Bordeaux, France (this house is in Greece, though) and it's a nice feature : it makes the inside of the building fresh in summer but still have a warm feeling all year round.

1800529-12_Haus_am_Meer_GERNER_GERNER_PL

These walls could be in an old house in Bordeaux, like 2 century old building we still have (my former appartment had such walls in its communal area/stairs, the place was wayy to tiny though, and I won't mention the humidity errrffgh)

Bonus picture, with some private garden. I love it.

A "color" post, it's been a while, but the last house posted in Archdaily has a nice "color"... or, to be more precise here : lightning, color is about light after all :D

Look at this picture.

Waverley-phf07-MM.jpg?1574127940

I don't know, usually I quickly pass through all the pictures but this one made me stop... the light is great here.

Besides that, it's a typical modern house

Waverley-phf02-MM.jpg?1574126975

I like it (beside some brutalist walls... meh) I like the bottom of the picture, this large flat steps

Waverley-phf05-JF.jpg?1574127128 Waverley-phf04-MM.jpg?1574127406

Here again.

Here is the floor plan as usual... this is too big

I thought my taste was a bit eclectic  - love ultra modern mixed with "natural" - rich earthy woods, metals and stone.

Turns out it not eclectic taste, just expensive taste!!  LOL

(Deuteronomy 28:3)  “Blessed you will be in the city, and blessed you will be in the field.

Being blessed by Jehovah is not contingent on location, assignment or circumstances.

This is a nice lake house

LC_HR_01.jpg?1587058678

Grey and orange-y (evening) because of the light in the woody interior... hmm

Other side :

LC_HR_04.jpg?1587058872

Gorgeous

It's by a lake

LC_HR_30.jpg?1587059694

Look at that fireplace... nice !

This one too

LC_HR_28.jpg?1587059663

Same on the exterior

LC_HR_10.jpg?1587059094

I like this bedroom, the wood, and it's huge !

LC_HR_22.jpg?1587059314

The one of the left doesn't feel necessary to me (you can see it's interior is more "modern" in the website)

LC_HR_05.jpg?1587058905

A dock with a boat would be better :D

LC_HR_33.jpg?1587059876

But heh, if you want to invite people, they could stay there.

Greece has great houses

I like the olive tree like that, with the rock

K-Studio_VillaMandra_0010_ClausBrechenma

The view is very nice

K-Studio_VillaMandra_0031_ClausBrechenma

The walls, the shadow to be inside and outside at the same time...

When you wake up from your nap, a nice view too.

I love the one that made you stop and look at it.  Thats what you said.  I love wood and stone.  I have a picture on my refrigerator so I can show the architecture when we get into the New World and Jehovah gives the green light to start building.

I love warmth and earth tone colors.  I love stone as sell.  In my minds eye I can see my new home.  Simple is beautiful.  Right in front of the ocean if Jehovah allows.  Oh yeah, and a pool.

Yes!

Here is another one, from France (south of it... most French people dream about a house in the south for their retirement :D)

Design is pretty modern

01.jpg?1622599804

But this "orange/beige", I love it

15.jpg?1622599999

It's great with the green around

17.jpg?1622600023

I like this. Very smooth

An interesting house from Vietnam

Color is about light... so shadows count :D

Nature inside

2928.jpg?1629241641

I'd rather not have other houses in front of this window, for privacy purpose, but the green and the colorful pebbles are nice.

Look at this "blue"

0082.jpg?1629241584&0094.jpg?1629241598&0078.jpg?1629241621

I love this blue concept.  It makes me feel like I was one with the universe or even the sea.  I love it.  I hope I can duplicate this concept in the NW.  (i hope).

Same idea, that's the point of the topic, giving idea we would enhance and reproduce in Paradise.

I've just found a nice house in a forest and this time, this will show a bad example of "colors"

casa-bosque-living-comedor.jpg?164064005

That's a shame... everything is the same color :(

I like the windows at the top, bringing tons of natural light.

Also, too much windows here :D

casa-bosque-jardin.jpg?1640640053

Let's draw closer

casa-bosque-terraza.jpg?1640640102

That's a nice area.

The house also has a good view

casa-bosque-hot-tub.jpg?1640640193

I like the left side, visible in the first picture

Glass half full - That house is a blank canvas, ready for someone to make it dazzle with colors...  Just need to convince the owner to give it up...

Maybe in the new world...

True... look at the beams above... They would be so much better in a darker tone... minimum Mahogany

Yeah.  I gotta find this painting app on my phone.  The colors looked real and not fake.  It's how we figured out that teal would work in our kitchen(I was sooo wrong about that).

I hope in the NW (if Jehovah allows) I could move to Greece.  I've always wanted to live there.  The homes and the architect speaks to me.  I feel that I belong.  Dages, I will come up with a blueprint and hopefully you will build.

I imagine my dad being resurrected (how I long to see him) and have him near me.  So much to do in the NW.

I fully agree about the fact that Greece looks amazing and I love the design of the houses there.

As I contemplate the possibilities of one of these homes could be mine.....a little change though.  Maybe one room for another or, dining area I stop to think that I'm already planning my new home.

It brings tears of happiness.   (don't mind me, I'm just dreaming for now.)
