Thursday, November 28 ~ Flee to Egypt.—Matt. 2:13.

Thursday, November 28

Flee to Egypt.—Matt. 2:13.

After Jehovah’s angel warned Joseph that King Herod intended to kill Jesus, young Jesus and his parents became refugees in Egypt. They remained there until Herod died. (Matt. 2:14, 19-21) Decades later, Jesus’ early disciples “were scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria” because of persecution. (Acts 8:1) Jesus had foreseen that many of his followers would be forced from their homes. He said: “When they persecute you in one city, flee to another.” (Matt. 10:23) This has been the case for thousands of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Many have lost loved ones and nearly all their possessions. Some faced danger when fleeing or when living in a refugee camp where people drank, gambled, stole, and were immoral. Yet, they kept a positive attitude by recalling that, like Israel’s trek in the wilderness, their stay in the camp would eventually come to an end.—2 Cor. 4:18. w17.05 3-4 ¶2-5

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

It's been 44 years now since Brother Franz made clear at a first time assembly in Portugal [They had been under ban] the understanding that the 6000 years that had past in 1975 began with Adam's creation and not the beginning of the 7th day.

So it has been a similar period to that of the Hebrews wandering in the wilderness.  Through these years, Satan has been walking about like a roaring lion knowing his time is short and still has that rebellious spirit and persecutes all those trying to serve Jehovah.

But we are aware of his machinations and keep on the watch.

Just as those years since 1975 have come and gone so quickly the remaining time is obviously shortened and we have the promises that the persecution will eventually end.

In the meantime he gives us the strength to keep our eye on the prize and make a reply to the one who is taunting him.

Thanks Vernalee for sharing the daily text with us.

Brother Merv and sister Chris.

Just as with the Israelites, their trek ended! Today many of our brothers and sisters are persecuted and many are displaced! Jehovah gives us just what we need to remain strong and survive! This too will end, just hold on and be strong! The best is yet to come!
